Good job everybody, and congratulations to those who did well!

Darn that guy who made me lose everything a few hours before the end though!

Can't wait to see the progress on The Castle Doctrine as work continues to get put into it, and looking forward to creating a death trap in the time to come big_smile

I think a starter house robbed haln for 130k, so I got in with an amazing stroke of luck.  He suicided in my house for $700 a minute later.

Edit: Aaaaaaand I now have my favorite painting big_smile

Nah, someone came in with more than enough tools to rob ANY house. Then I said screw it, no money left, time to see if I could rob you. Didn't work hahaha.

Oh, this contest made the loss of my 130k so much more excruciating than just simply losing my 130k of hard work. I knew I should have gotten rid of some of it to make me less of a target.

Welp, my time of paranoia and panic is over. I go out for lunch, come back and all my hard work is gone sad

I've been trying not to think of how I'm practically robbing real money from others during this contest, but it's always in the back of my mind sad

Haha, this is always on my mind too. It's the reason I haven't bothered scouting and robbing people, I just made a house and everybody gave me money. I didn't kill them, it was self-defense! Plus, I'm a scaredy-cat (for some reason that doesn't look right, but probably because I've never tried spelling that) and I already get enough tension doing a self-test, let alone trying to explore other houses.

#6 Re: News » Why Rampant Sales are Bad for Players » 2014-01-27 00:35:29

I just wanted to say, that I bought the game on a whim when I found out about the Steal Real Money contest, but ended up enjoying the game far more than I would have expected. I absolutely don't mind the pricing model you want to go for. Truthfully, I think rampant sales are bad too, although I totally love getting the discounts. People are expecting more for less with the sales craze, and while it's probably good for old games that could very well never have sold another copy, it's killing me seeing the discounts on new games consistently.

You'll be heartened to hear that Mr Stewart is no more - I accidentally tapped an arrow key twice while in Epps' house. Serves me right for not using enter-confirmation movement. Now the long climb to the top again...

Ouch. I was wondering why you killed yourself with so many tools left to easily get out. So I'm Epps am I? Cool.

Edit: With a sudden realization, I just realized I'm actually wealthy. It didn't even occur to me I was even near the top of the list just now...

And in case you were wondering, you had quite the bounty.

You made me way bigger of a target than I wanted to be haha.

Been there, 20k... 30k... 40k... 50k.... watching my cash ticking up thinking ok I have enough now... stop dying in my house the vault is getting too full! The lure will get to much and someone will storm me with like 20k tools!.... Then it happens.

Easy fix for too much money, buy tools and then sell them, that way you don't get more.
