Congratulations to those who did well.
I think it's time for me to ragequit Castle Doctrine for a while, and stop trying to make any money off of it. Every time I hit a decent sum (I was on 50k) people show up with buttloads of tools (a guy used ~25k of tools (bunch of pistols, water/dogmeat/bricks in the 20s, doorstoppers) taking my stuff). It's disheartening that they'd spend that much to take money from me, and even more so that they'd promptly die after doing it, making both my and their effort pointless.
So you NEED to have the particular painting you want in your house? What if you are in the top 8 and don't have a painting? can you still choose one?
I believe it was stated that Jason would just go down the list to the next-most affluent house that had a painting and give the owner of that house a painting.
It's your game and you can have it your way, but "making a point" is a terrible, TERRIBLE choice for a game. A good game is meant to be played and enjoyed, not to "make a point".
That's akin to saying that all paintings should just be pretty things to look at, or all films should make you feel happy. (I think the game is playable and enjoyable, and it looks like a lot of other people do too.)
