Thanks you, we'd be happy to enjoy another contest in the future. For money or not, it's fun smile

Finally I learned who I was: Charles Gary Swain! Sorry if I gave any of you guys trouble tongue

It was such a nice contest, we'd hope to see more insipiring contests like this in the future.

A full list would be nice indeed, I'm sure everbody here would like to know how much did they win!

Imagine you live alone, and you are being robbed by 5 thiefs. Then you say, "If there was only one thief, I could get him. They were just too crowded".

What I mean is, sometimes bad people get together to rob/beat/kill one poor guy. This is life, and Castle Doctrine is the same thing; it doesn't have to be fair.

I disagree. They are not just a bunch of NPC pixels. They are someone's bunch of NPC pixels. Julius Dwayne Palacios killing my family made me sad. Iceman felt regret after killing someone else's pixelated family. Those are real feelings we're talking about, pixelated presentation notwithstanding.

I think any person who has feelings for those pixelated NPCs, needs psychological help. We are alive human beings, any bondage with a non-existant individual means desperate loneliness. My humble opinion.

#6 Re: Main Forum » Possibility of Duplicate Accounts » 2014-01-28 03:21:46

well, as the contest is over, I don't think anyone will buy multiple accounts. Unless they are greedy about being a top player.

I haven't checked exactly but I probably earned nice and sweet 15 dollars. It would have been so much more if a "Souza" didn't march his way through to my vault in my extra protected and complicated maze.

Either it was super luck, or he somehow knew the way...

Police are faster now (4 minutes).

And you have to wait 5 minutes between visits to your house (it will look like someone is in there if you try to go back before that).

One more question: What if a house is being robbed right at the moment when contest ends? It will not be on the list, so... I just wondered what happens to that.

See, here it's pretty late now and I need to sleep. I'll wake up in the morning, maybe my vault will be emptied, but maybe that will happen after the contest has ended.

So, is there a way to know what my vault's value was at exactly 5 PM?

I think not but still... I'm curious.

Oh man, someone had been spamming $2000 house for about five minutes. Stop it! You're driving the rate up sad

That suggestion doesn't make sense, rate goes up by few cents maybe, yet the gain is about 2 dollars.

People are all trying the same thing, not just one person. If a person stops it, other one will do it. Game theory is a b*tch.

...OR, if I were a nasty developer, I would keep creating $2000 houses to increase the rate...

Yea I found a $5k one today too..... I have no idea how that happens.

He/she probably used up all the money to buy items, then successfully robbed a house, then you entered the house before he/she was able to take any security measures.

...or they just want to donate. tongue

Is it just me, or did people stopped robbing each other? Perhaps people took a defensive position as the contest is about the end.

#13 Re: Main Forum » Violence as the main theme » 2014-01-27 14:12:56

In my opinion, even though TCD makes you act immoral at times, takes the graphics back to Atari 2600 era, in which we never cared about those pixel guys we have brutally killed.

Therefore I don't understand how it's a big deal now. It's just bunch of pixels. They don't have a soul, they don't even represent any human being, just NPC.

These ideas have been around since V5. Pretty neat and effective, although neither of you originally invented them.

Possible, as I only heard about this game when the contest was announced. Still, last week I don't remember seeing those tricks as often.

My BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER in this game is to underestimate the simple houses.

#15 Re: Main Forum » Meta-Game and Common Trap Mechanics » 2014-01-27 13:13:58

I'm afraid I was the one behind the idea of a house full of dogs behind doors. I've seen many people do it later on.

Then I did the Electric Floor+Sticking Pressure Switch+Power Source trio into every corridor. Evil again, and got quickly copied. big_smile

Now I'm trying something more sinister...

I see the game uses nicknames. I cannot see my name in the list, or anywhere else. Is there a way to know who I am?

* When the contest ends, does it count if we are in the house at that time? As far as I know, if you are in your house, you cannot be seen on the list.

And another question about the game in general: I see the game uses nicknames. I cannot see my name in the list, or anywhere else. Is there a way to know who I am?
