All I did was re-install the driver for my nvidia graphics card, on Ubuntu I think you should be able to do it easily like this:
If you are using an older version of Ubuntu, or if you aren't notified about additional drivers, you can launch the installation yourself.
Go to System -> Administration -> Additional Drivers
Once the drivers are downloaded and installed, reboot your computer.
Note: In older version of Ubuntu, Additional Drivers are called Hardware Drivers.
Note: In older version of Ubuntu, newer graphic adapters may not be supported with the repositories provided driver.

The gdb command should work I think as it is GNU so maybe that will help you find out. Make sure the CastleDoctrineApp file is executable, you can check doing right click, properties, permissions, and then tick the "is executable" box.
Good luck!
yeah, I thought I'd have a quick look didn't expect the entrance to be so lethal lol, only got my PC working properly again today :-)
Considering how many people have had two or even three accounts in the past I don't think ip has anyting to do with it.
I guess you tried un-ignore all already just in case, I see 16 houses in total right now, sorry I can't help.
Or maybe it relates to this:
Force-ignore timeout: 24 hours of listed house time
(How long after you steal from a house until you can see the new-life house of that owner after the owner dies and respawns.)
You are John William Escobedo :-)
don't spend it all at once lol
Yes! It works! Thank you! You are a genius!
I did a short course about Linux but it was mostly based on Ubuntu, and it covered just the basics, what is the best way to learn more?
I find some of the man pages a bit confusing, I keep meaning to learn more, but now it works, thanks again, I am happy.
Of course $0 and a dead family... start again :-)
OK maybe it is because after the kernel upgrade the proprietary nvidia driver is not working properly?
Sorry I am still a novice with Linux, I am gonna try running smxi or switching to the free one, I don't even know if it would be better :-(
OK thanks for helping! This is what happens:

Still using a virtual machine with crunchbang for now but I'd love to get to the bottom of this as it also seems to affect Steam and Chromium
Have a good day :-)
PS: When I try to run it nothing happens at all...
Thanks for trying to help! The last update of debian wheezy Ishould have said.

Have a good day!
Well, I didn't want to bother him when I have no idea of why it isn't working, as far as I know I haven't done anything but update!
At least now I have an error message:
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
I'm gonna get it running in a virtual machine for now, hope the issue resolves itself with the next update!
I can guess I have $0 and a dead wife by now lol
Hello, I know it's a long shot but after the last update I can't launch the game anymore!
I am using Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (debian)
KDE 4.8.4
I have tried everything, any help would be so appreciated!
Thanks
Maybe people will stop abusing dual accounts and give the extra copy to their friends?
I never knew about this! can't it be fixed?
maybe I have never had enough money to be worth it...
It sounds great to me! It made my morning
I have to confess I knew I would probably die in self-test (which of course I did ) so I thought I'd spread the cash with my alt account...
About only getting half the money, when your wife died did the cold-blooded killer step on her still warm corpse? Otherwise, challenge accepted!
PS: Not much happening anywhere!
PS: Do I detect a tiny hint of anger? Judging by the state you left the house in I mean...
With so few active players I might as well start from scratch, plus I like the challenge of trying to keep the wife alive!
I don't know about the money I tried my best, maybe it was too much to carry!
Why did I waste tools at the entrance? Being lazy I guess, obviously you love animals
I still don't understand how to get those powered doors open!
Enjoy your paintings (while you can )
After months of scouting (even though I never got past those damned electric doors) and saving up to brute force Earl Michael Case's place, I got so lucky! Just when I thought I was in a nasty death trap, I found the dog, took my chances and got so so lucky! I don't have time to protect myself properly so I'll be sad to see all those paintings go
Awesome! So looking forward to it!
These are from a while back, I enjoyed building, testing, and watching the tapes!
Hello all, I would be OK with a sale but I also agree with other people's comments here.
Would a sale just be a re-play of what we've seen so far? (I bought it on the Steam sale) Have loads of people play, realise it is really hard and tough, then leave after a few days/weeks/months? He made it open source after all.
I love this game, I even bought another copy to give to my friends and family to try, which they never did!:(
I will keep playing as long as there is two of us.
It sounds great! It's gonna be awesome to have more players.
One tool that I would personally love to try is a one-time battery pack that maybe powers something for a few moves, just so you can go past trapdoors or use on inverted voltage-triggered switches.
I might add some begginners maps, I thought maybe one where you can see all the electronics tiles in action?
So looking forward to it
Thank you
