@thoth, that would have been me.  I used the money to make progress on Smith.  Of course, Eppfel has changed it quite a bit since then.  Progress is slow again...

#52 Re: Main Forum » Done » 2014-11-06 00:54:11

@Passive, the selling things is an issue with the game, not the app.  On PC, if you sell tools, then view your videos, the tools are unsold again.

#53 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-11-05 20:28:21

@Eppfel, I keep forgetting about that new dog.  Just now I was killed by a crippled cat sad

@Matthias, of course!  While a tool-less run is the ultimate aim, I'll use whatever I can in the name of progress!

#54 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-11-04 04:35:15

Not me.  I haven't visited for about 24 hours.  I started a house to raise funds to raid you, but that didn't work - I just lost the house by walking into a plain view pitbull, giving a 5k bounty to Mr. Johnson.

Okay then, time to go back to basics with Mr Smith. 2k suicide run coming up.

Edit: Damn it, you've changed the locks again! Combo breaker time.

Edit 2: 1 down... And I spy a new grate...

Edit 3: And a new solution needed to puzzle 2.  Now that will take me a while to work out.

#55 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-11-04 03:25:52

The key word was 'could'. The trick would be working out what causes the glitch.

#56 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-11-04 02:07:05

So what you're saying is that if you put your wife in a far corner, have her easily killed, then block her in: you could have a second, impossible to reach without tools, safety net?  Nice!

#57 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-11-03 21:09:35

@Passive, nice vid.  Personally, I would have just gone ddduddddduddddduddd... Set the correct combo then gone for the safe tongue  I took about 10k from several visits to McDonald.

#58 Re: Main Forum » Terminal Heist Update » 2014-11-03 17:45:34

Fantastic!  I've been waiting to hear news on this.  My only concern with an isometric view is knowing the field of vision of dogs/robots.  I guess it's something we would get used to.

#59 Re: Main Forum » Noooooooooo!!!!! It is dead! » 2014-11-02 17:45:32

Hey, it's better than a combo lock any day of the week!

#60 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-11-02 07:42:40

Yeah, that was me.  I figured I could take three attempts at the top puzzle with $800 of door stops and water to allow me to reenter.  The first time, I miscalculated the cost and the second time I got lucky!

#61 Re: Main Forum » Noooooooooo!!!!! It is dead! » 2014-11-02 06:43:17

@Matthias, yep.  I used tools a while back which let me know something about where the cat goes and which path to take.  The rest I worked out by trial and error, eliminating what couldn't work.

#62 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-11-02 03:40:02

@Eppfel, I won't be worrying too much if they failed with all those tools.  I would love to attempt your house with a tool collection like that.  I tend to mostly be a 2k suicider or a paranoid home-owner.

@Passive, I was wondering the same thing...

#63 Re: Main Forum » Noooooooooo!!!!! It is dead! » 2014-11-01 08:19:00

It did take a lot of tools, but now that I've used them I can pass it without them.

Check my latest run - I can now do the first 5 traps tool-less and I have info for the sixth.  Reminds me of your front door!

Edit: I don't remember Kinzer, but I'm intrigued, for sure...

Edit 2: Oh, and I'm loving Smith's house! Such brilliant puzzles!

#64 Re: Main Forum » Noooooooooo!!!!! It is dead! » 2014-11-01 04:07:13

@Matthias, has anyone crossed that first trap tool-less now? tongue

Now, about that next part...

#65 Re: Main Forum » Noooooooooo!!!!! It is dead! » 2014-11-01 03:37:38

I'm guessing the McDonald house!  I happen to know the tool-less solution for that house and just picked up 12k.  I'm using it now on tools for Smith...

Edit: Major progress!  I now expect Smith to make a few changes in the next two hours!

#66 Re: Main Forum » Noooooooooo!!!!! It is dead! » 2014-10-31 09:14:15

I have the entrance for your house down, Matthias.  However, I'm raising money to take on Smith so won't risk it to go further.

#67 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-10-30 08:04:06

Damn it.  Every time I get to that stage, you shake it up again!  Time to crack the entrance once again!

Ah, combo lock combined with a clock? I suicided in front of your vault as well. Your name was Coulson or something..
Yeah, I think a 2k house is even harder to start with nowadays. But I would not do that anyway.

Next will be a combo lock combined with a clock and pet magic dance...

That's if I can build a house that isn't brute forced for no financial gain.  This time Mr Gordon spent $7300 on tools to rob $2500 from me.

@Eppfel  My (short-lived) house was a complex combo lock.  Aside from the intial commit, you could only move left or right.

To the idiot who just robbed $400 from my new 2k starter home, with 2k of tools, congratulations.  It's people like you who are killing this game.  Pointless.

#70 Re: Main Forum » Noooooooooo!!!!! It is dead! » 2014-10-28 01:59:34

Nope.  Not even close.  I can also see Jones on my list now.  I wonder who I am then...

#71 Re: Main Forum » Noooooooooo!!!!! It is dead! » 2014-10-27 20:40:38

I wonder if I am Mr Jones... I built a slightly complex combo lock to make cash while I was away from the game.  One person did suicide in front of the vault then later, another robbed me with a crowbar.

#72 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-10-27 05:14:10

That's a shame, Matthias.  You had a nice puzzle at the start as well!  I'd guessed what to do with the cat correctly, but I didn't know why...

#73 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-10-26 09:17:26

Of course.  I wouldn't expect anything less.  Now the first little puzzle tends to be quite easy to get through.  It's the second I always have trouble with.  Getting a crowbar these days is getting tougher and tougher!

#74 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-10-26 06:54:54

Eppfel is an admitted multi-account user, of which there is no problem.  There's nothing wrong with having two accounts and using one for a house and one to rob, thereby experiencing both sides of the game.  The problem comes from people using multiple accounts for their own gain.  Eppfel doesn't do this.

@Eppfel on my last visit I made good progress - that choice of 4 is actually down to a choice of 2 now, thanks to something I saw inside!  I'm still stumped as to how that cat comes into it, although I have an idea now...

#75 Re: Main Forum » The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith » 2014-10-26 02:21:04

If I ever manage to rob Smith, I will share the wealth.  I'll leave a large chunk of cash with my wife in easy reach.  I think two decent houses would be better than one tough one for the longevity of the game.
