Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

I saw that too, and accidentally left a saw there.  I was tempted to cash in my life and give him the bounty, but I wasn't sure if he'd be online at the time, so anyone could just claim it.

Congrats!  Mallory, right?  I was looking at his house yet somehow walked through a door into a dog that had seen me.  I was really careful, as I had a decent house (only about 2k in the bank, but about 15k invested).  I'm actually watching a video playback to see what I did wrong hmm

Well i am officially the worst. Miss stepped my dog dance and failed self test. Even after running it twice with all dangers out, what a dick.

If you don't have chills on Clay, take a bat, some water, and see what you can change...

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

Hahaha, robbed right after the one month mark. I suspect the multi account player, because there were several suicide runs with large amounts of crowbars and the skills of the robber were not that good either - especially considering, he saw every trap in my house before. His final run were $25k and he took brute-force for the complete second half of the map.
Right now I don't feel like coming back with Smith, because it got boring anyway. Based on his skills in robbing, I don't think Clay will be very hard to crack.

Thx for the compliments and sympathy guys, but that's the spirit of the game wink
I don't have time right now. So, a recap, revenge  or a new house has to wait for a bit.

Clay's house seems to be quite deadly.  34 visits and a whopping 1 death so far.

I quiet like this idea. Just play the game as if he isn't there. No point in having the most expensive house if no one visits big_smile

Your explanation of your first trap is interesting as you know from the solution I was using, there is another way.  In the future, you could reuse this style of trap with a window positioned, making an up or down solution impossible.  The door would have to open somewhere else, of course.

The very first version of the trap had the door placed on the tile to the north, so it worked like that, only that the cat would see you one step later.

Been taking a look at Clay's. So, far he copied two traps 1:1 from my house. I think I will reveal Smith's map, then it should be easier to rob him for everyone reading the forums. smile

Don't do that i was making some good/slow progress before i killed myself. I doubt it is as good as the Smith house, so i have faith in AMwhy solving it big_smile

Got some money together and i can confirm that, according to the map i have of smith, going up and along the top is almost identical to smith. The "tap zap" part at the start is designed differently, but similar idea. And the top right had corner is slightly different. And not sure if it is because of the dead child, but currently there is no cat to go setting off all the doors. Unfortunately someone killed the last child so i could save my progress. But was worth the tools i guess, creating a map now. Now to start saving again.

On a side note what to people do to record there robberies? the program i am using makes videos that i think i just too big.

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

Egads, dropping like flies. This wasn't the first time I mistook a sleeping pitbull in a broken house for a dead one. It's a pity, I had loads of tapes I wanted to watch. (I hope in cullman's reboot he changes that.) Added $10K to the John Drake house to whoever wants it (edit: gone)

Well, finally I might do some santa runs and poke around; been very inactive.

matthias, you are John Edmund Hale.

John Drake seems very lucky with bounties. I managed to drop 14k there by thinking i was clever. I had killed a child previously, then stepped over the child looking for the wife, found her but carried on exploring past her as she had a gun. This meant she ran to the exit, only the dead child was blocking her so my only way out was covered by her and her shotgun sad

Also the list had got very short over night

And clay is MIA :S

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

Ouch, I had never considered that hazard of a dead child.

Clay must be dead. All the paintings are back in the auction, and I haven't seen any high value houses at all today. Fun fact: we can calculate the exact time of death from the auction prices. They start at $100,000 and halve every 12 hours. I calculate he died about 354 minutes ago.

matthias is king of the hill!

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

That is f***ed up. $260k down the toilet. I really wanted to rob him. I have one account in Limbo with $40k and thought, if he robbed me with multiple accounts, I can, too.

And here is this story: Seven hours ago I received 2 tweets from an anonymous account, with what seems to be the solution for Clay. And six hours ago he died. Unfortunately I was sleeping.

I have two theories:
1. Someone found Clay's vault and wanted to give it to me. Clay saw the tape, wanted to change his house and died in a self-test.
2. It is Clay himself, who fucked up while robbing and then wanted me to rob him before his house is gone. (But then the times would be off).

No matter what, this chapter is closed. I have plans for a new house..
