Interesting how exactly do you protect the wife and children? I did notice that you cant block them still.

Yea, 9 deep but you got to remember that if you kill the wife the changes are permanent, you can get 8 saws a gun, walk in kill the wife, drill 8 walls, leave come back repeat and you just drilled 16.

Ha, Yea I agree, the power switched to the robber quite a bit. I would like to see items maxing out at maybe 4, Not only would this help give a bit power back to the homeowner but It would open a lot more "Puzzle" elements I think.

I really love this game, and I want to see it be all it can be. It has a huge amount of potential, you are doing a great job.

Yea, Idk... Maybe you should take items out of the game.

I heard you say that you want this to be a puzzle game at heart, I feel like now with maps, items are a little too strong.

As long as the owner can beat the map it means its possible, hence no need for items... you just have to puzzle it out.

It makes for very interesting game play when you go to rob someone and you have assets that if you read their blueprint wrong, you lose.

I really do feel like items really marginalize the game-play, especially having to make walls 9 deep and even then people can drill through them up to 16 if they kill the wife.

EDIT: I do like the idea of items, but maybe make them less obtrusive, like the current detector is a good one, also the gun and club, I like the idea of dogs but it seems to me that they just end up making houses broken in the long run.

EDIT2: Yea the more I think about it, the items should be more of a luxury, to prevent dying, by being able to check if a great is on, or if a trap door is powered, or if a wire has power in it, those could all be different items.

Played v6 a bit, seems like its really hard to keep people from robbing you now. I do like how people only get half of your money if you get the vault. Maybe make it so that you can only rob a house once, or it kind of defeats the purpose of not getting all the money.

What about something where every week the world resets?

Can you give an estimate on when the new version will be coming out?

Interesting.

If someone wanted to they could just record with fraps or something though, so why not just give it to us!

I was just thinking. The whole Idea of being able to make something 9 deep is wrong. People should be SEVERELY punished for just doing one of something.

Maybe have it so that if you use wire cutters, you can use them again immediately. So if its a bunch of something in a line, one pair of wire cutters will do the trick.

I wasn't removing the wage. Don't show houses that are abandoned. If a user hasn't logged in for a day then remove their house from the list.

Maybe, remove their house from the list if they haven't logged in for a day AND their house has been broken into and lost all the money from the vault.

Hi all, I started playing yesterday. It seems that the game is suffering from defenses that are nearly impossible to penetrate without brute force. Seeing as death is permanent, brute force really doesn't work and personally I feel is boring.

I have three suggestions on how it could be dealt with.

The first is, make animals way less reliable when it comes to pressing switches. If this means that sometimes they pass over switches without pressing them, or they are only reliable when pressing switches when the player can see them I don't know.

The other Idea I had was to maybe give the player an Item called the brute-forcer. Conceivably you could click it, it would then bring up a little menu and you could set the step patern, 1x2 2x2 2x3 etc and it will sit there and do the pattern really fast for as long as you like.

Third, Nerf the metal floors. Either make it so that they don't kill, but only incapacitate or so that they kill incapacitate and force the robber out of your house.

I feel that all of these solutions help to mitigate the power of guessing-security. I am in no way saying that my ways will work, however maybe we can come up with something better. I really like this game and want to see it actually be fun! As it is right now, the top 20 houses you walk into have a corral of floor grates with dogs on switches out of view, where is the fun in that?

Also make it so houses don't show up on the list if the owner hasn't logged in for x amount of hours, I was thinking 24. There are pages upon pages upon pages of houses I can just walk into and walk through some pre-drilled holes and grab a thousand.

I also like the idea of giving us more exploratory tools in place of maps, maybe basicly maps, but only for different componenets. Wire map, Switch Map, Animal Location Map.
