The final exchange rate was:  $1 USD for every $1030 game dollars.  So, essentially, everyone who had at least $1030 will win at least $1 USD.

Sweet! That means The Castle Doctrine cost me about 50 cents! Thanks Jason! wink

The servers came back, confirming I had $7700 in the end. Hope this translates to more than a dollar! wink

"The server has been shut down for maintenance"

I'm wondering how the top 3-4 accounts skyrocketed by 100k or 200k within 5 minutes. I mean, a slew of brilliant high speed robberies seems unlikely. I'm guessing dupes dropped their final purses into their owners vaults.

Or figuring out routes ahead of time and executing on them in the final minutes, which is what I assume someone was doing in my house for the last 30 minutes.

By the way, this contest was a fantastic way of getting people to hammer the servers. Smart idea!

Around $6500 when the server shut down. Whew! That was an intense last few minutes as I pretty much couldn't re-enter my house for most of the 30 minutes leading up to the end thanks to some bug. Glad the server shut down as a way to end the contest since I'd probably still be playing right now being unsure of when the deadline's really hitting.

Not necessarily from that same person but I've built mazes that span the entire house with a chasing dog at the start and have seen users go directly to the safe after only 5 to 10 other people have tried entering the house. I'm rather convinced there are a good portion of cheaters out there. As with any game that is dependent on fog of war, I am unsure how there would ever _not_ be a good amount of cheaters waiting to take advantage.

Someone will inevitably be smart enough to use a keystroke/mouse gesture recorder to make it so "rebuilding houses" becomes a quick and easy matter. This is not something you can easily, if at all, counteract. Although I know nobody's mind will be changed about disallowing the saving of house blueprints, do keep in mind that the client itself requires zero modification to get house saving to work.
