How long had you cased that place? I thought you would have figured out the dance pretty easy...

I was in once and died on the electric floor, so I knew I would only need 1 wire cutter. When I discovered I had too few waters, my only chance was to surpass your traps and the wood above the dog gave me a hint.

Felt like a duty to rob it, because of a massive combo lock in the end. Hate it. Took me three runs.

Today:

Used the money parked in limbo. Was surprised to get to the vault. Interesting concept though.

Wow, iceman. That is detail. I used bottom-up to decipher the wiring. So which switches have to be triggered and which not. And then which button excludes another...

From the house list I enjoyed Mitchell very much. Saw that two dogs behind glas and a door before. wink Whose is it?

Jaam, i guess your house is the one with the trapdoor on the first step and a long electric floor? Your name is Trussel

Not as compact, but I like that you have to step on the plate immediately: http://castledraft.com/editor/fLP773
I built it accidentally in Smith's.

The really weird thing is why there was that flaw in the first place.  I mean, without even reducing all the unnecessary wiring in that room, you could just move the two "latches" on the left side to the right to fill in the hole in the concrete, and there wouldn't be any danger of changing and possibly messing up the wiring.  I dunno, maybe he just never expected to be the top house.

I saw an early version and it had pits instead of the wiring all the way up. So I guess he just changed this part, because he did not seem to active to me.

I mean for 2k you get almost half of the schematics with 1 explosive and some meats. I used 1 explosive, 1 gun and 14 meats for mapping the schematics. It's maybe not a 2k flaw in a sense of being solvable for just 2k, but it's still a big flaw.

As he is gone for more than 24 hours, I think it's all right to share the map:

OK, 12 hours to go!
So, no last minute bidding. Offer is closed and goes to cullman for 40USD.
That gives a ratio of 4852,575 TCDD = 1 USD

I found a 2k starter and mapped 95% of his clock schematics. But I failed solving them right now. Another try..

Davidson solved

Tool-less run. Have no use for the money right now, so go for it!
It feels like he wants to be robbed...

Just found the security flaw on coincidence. Why nobody robbed the place, yet?

I just found a *huge* security flaw in Davidson's house (he'll probably patch it soon, but it'll still be there).  I don't want to say too much, but I will say that 2k robbers might have a chance.

By the way, does anyone know who Davidson is on the forums (or if he reads the forums)?

i really have no idea, but i'm pretty interested in the flaw big_smile

i have a pretty good map of the house, think i'm going to take a look.

I totally forgot to check out, what I believe you are referring to, but I guess he reads the forum or watched your tape, because the house is gone.
No idea about his identity.
PS: I hope I didn't rob that poor beginner for nothing.
PPS: Nope, not the flaw I hoped.

I have no idea i could i have been so stupid, i wasn't using key confirmation and i inadvertently clicked UP on the most common commit gate...

I know that feeling. When you hold a house that long, you get bored and careless. And that is lethal in TCD.

iceman wrote:

Of course, the real reason I'm sad is because Davidson has a 6 bit combo lock more than $3000 of tools deep, closing off an area that would take at least $5400 to get through without the code... ugh.  That's not getting cracked on my budget sad

Yeah, 5 houses up and Davidson, Morris and I think one other house are code locks. Quite boring.

iceman wrote:

Well, there go my dreams of starting out with a 100k home =P Anyways, good luck with your next house and future robbing exploits

Don't give up on your dreams. Money can buy everything! Check out this one-time special offer! But just for a limited time, so hurry up.

EDIT: Also, just wondering, what was the mistake JAAM was making before? (You mention it in this post)

I guess he stepped backwards from the trapdoor in the bottom and not forwards to spot the cat and kill in the next move.
But a large misconception is that you need tons of crowbars. Just a crowbar and a water bring you to the top most cat and let you spot most of the schematics. And you can see it, if you map the place. On the first try you maybe take two crowbars, but even with one its worth trying, instead of prying open randomly.
Was actually the part of the house, which took me the longest.

I had a lot of fun too. And I spared your vault, because I wanted more of it:

Yeah, a new bid. Now there is competition.
I assume both your bids in USD. But I won't restrict it to currency or even money... The highest bid in compared value wins. wink

keep in mind that i have no family, so the house will be left broken and with 0 money

No, house immediately goes of the list. I think you have to pass a self-test before he can enter again. And remember that he can't give you the money, just the tools, so there will be a loss involved.

Damn, Linville dead? I was extensively scouting the place with funds of my non-creative but effective house. He totally changed the complete house, because I cracked it in the beginning. Whose house was it again? Passive's?
And the tiny houses killed Robinson, who was the Noble clone.

I was thinking about all that money that currently rests in Limbo. Because I have no creative house ideas right now, it feels like a burden. But TCD is a game and should not be another item on my todo list.
And just a few days ago I had the chance to grab mala's $80k vault and I didn't, because it felt not worth it. So, what's it worth then?

Let us do a little experiment...

###  I offer $194103* to the highest bidder  ###

*The Castle Doctrine Ingame Dollar

You are bidding on a lifetime experience. The Castle Doctrine is a game for nerds. For people that have endurance, passion and to much time for playing computer games. And it is hard. Only few players thrived to accumulate funds above $100k. And even less get a hold off that much in an instance.
With that much money you do not need to build your house from start up, but immediately take part in the endgame. Build a house like the legendary Corey Phillips Smith or be a hero and share your wealth by letting others rob you. The possibilities are endless...

There are multiple delivery options:

  • Standard: You send me a house entrance screenshot or a name and I will suicide at your door mat. This includes a bounty of x and a loss of half the cash (not tools) due to conversion of money into transportable goods (tools).

  • Speedy: We will make up an online meeting point and I let you rob my empty house. After you are back online I suicide at your door step for the extra bounty of X.(No refunds if transaction is unsuccessful)

  • Premium: For bid + $16USD I will transfer you my account credentials, so you receive 100% of the credits + plus a valid The Castle Doctrine account

***Special***
If the bid surpasses $19.4USD I will add a personal security check service to the offer. Send your plans for a new house and I will check it for weaknesses.

If you want to stay anonymous you can send me a private bid and I will  post it here. Happy bidding!

###  UPDATE  15-02-09 9:02 UTC/GMT ###

The offer ends Mo, 9th Feb 2015 at 9am UTC/GMT

Bids:
Cullman: 20 USD
Amatiel: 25 USD
Cullman: 40 USD

The bid is closed and goes to cullman for 40USD
