Im gonna start playing again, from what i think its a 6 or 8 months break. Has anything really changed? or its just the same game with no changes at all?
Edit: Just tryed it 5 min and from what i see only a bunch of houses (20 maybe? i dunno) from the 100+ that were 10 months ago. I think it's not worth it.

Destroying someone's house just because they broke yours is very much in the spirit of the game, and was vaguely referenced to in the trailer with the line "You'll remember that name."
How do you revenge if the name changes every time you die? I mean, I make a new house, the first/second person who enters has a 2k kit to force my starter house, how is that even revenge?

I've had the same thing happen a lot without any successful robberies on my side. I think there are just more people getting their rocks off spending 2k on tools and then going on to trash a random house, start over and do the same again. But the proposal is good.
Actually in my last 2k houses people with 2k tools come to my house and forced just to take $300/400. I don't know why they do that, to gain experiencie? You can go and try solve 4k+ houses, you don't need to destroy a starter houses

A single ladder and a bunch of saws will definably get you somewhere important.
Maybe the first trapdoor is always close so if you do that you only waste time? Could be a good way to avoid your strat

Yesterday i suicided robe and that happened a me a lot of times,like 3 o 4 times, i was a bit sleepy, haha.

Obviously an experienced robber.
Came back after three scout runs with about 4000$ in tools.
Tried to get through my doggone family protection sphere.
After the video stops (for reasons of privacy), he explores for a bit to reach my actual vault, wastes his remaining tools, finally shoots the dog next to the shotgun only to still find his way blocked.
My House value was about 6000$.His is now at about 4000$.
(Yeah, I am VERY protective of my family. My vault is reachable with tools and luck and experience, but I will gladly burn all excess cash I have to put more dogs and walls and pits between any robber and my wife'n'kids)

edit 2: aaaaand the next guy came and wasted lots of tools in multiple runs, now sits at 2400$.

I think your name is Stanley V. Henderson or it begin by Douglas, but the one named Douglas has no house so he probably died.
It was douglas i think, because my house got brute forced and die, so now it doesn't matter, But thanks =P

I love magic dance traps. They are fun to figure out. Combo locks are easy to figure out (if you have tools).
You say that you use choose 1 door from many and say combo locks are cancer :-DEDIT: Why people use them? Because they are cheap and provide high complexity. Just break the walls somewhere around where the cat/dog is and take a note of the buttons and then figure it out. It's usually not that hard.
Of course if you do suicide running it's bad for you as you can't get back, but when you go carefully so you can leave when you want you can actually break it - figure out how it works and come again better prepared.
EDIT: Amatiel you write it to almost every thread that if anyone is using combo lock or magic dance you will not come to their house. That's fine .. there are thousands of others. But if you could please stop writing that over and over that would be great. Magic dances are great and I love figuring them out, combo locks are just crossings with lots of ways to go where only one way is correct and they can be broken and bypassed (or you can break it and look at the combination for next time). Nothing too difficult. It can be difficult if cleverly combined, but still it can be passed (believe me I broke into 2 houses from top 8 yesterday).
How you figure out a magic dance if the floor is full of electric floors, there are no walls near and a cat already has seen you, that traps are cancer.

Well. i didn't die self testing now, but i missed 2 big oportunitys to rob +6k houses value because of my dumbess. Had the tools, had the chance, screwed up. I'm to bad at robbing yet =P

They are cancer.
If i see one I leave the house immediately with my 2k of tools to prevent the owner making a profit from me.
When i see a combo lock i waste the tools if i can't scape. I hate that 2 tramps

So i just went on a suicide roberry spree. At least in 1/2 of houses i visite there is at least 1 magic dance. Why you guys like so much that traps?
I know its a good trap, but imo its the unfunniest trap in the whole game (2º place combo locks)

Hahaha, oh man I know what you are going through.
I usually have to do a 0.5 second double take, I go "Tch..." grin, and shake my head, and an inner voice comes forward and says, "So that's it. It's over? It's really over." Then I accept my fate and walk into the dog.
Then I laugh at myself, and I do some clubbing runs to even my feelings out
I just think " I'm an idiot, how i didn't notice that trap? Good job, you die in a 1100 house having your house already set up. You deserve it, nex time bring a drug meat, you idiot"

Likely people who go out robbing for the experience of learning traps and getting ideas, or just enjoying the game, rather than trying to get money and build their own home.
As a basic check you should make sure your house can withstand at least $2000 worth of tools. If your wife can be killed with a meat and a club, and you don't want her to die, then you should improve her security.
Maybe was a starter house, thats why he only had a dog ?
