are you saying that name has been alive for months? the only way that's possible is if he never ever set his house, even an empty set to scout around.

Or just haven't been playing. Even if his house is robbed and wife is killed, he can still come back and go die in Phiat's house.

At one point the base bounty was set at 50$
This value is decided at character creation, so someone created that character while 50 bucks was the bounty.

http://thecastledoctrine.net/forums/vie … hp?id=2823 this is the trap of mine I was talking about that the 'trick' to yours remind me of.

#29 Re: Main Forum » Did Forrest Woodson die in your house? » 2014-05-05 20:45:19

I really dug the "this is an easy noob house" vibe of your trap, which turned out to be anything but. Good job, cullman. I'd love to see a schematic of the trap, if you don't want to show it publicly, perhaps you could email it to me? I promise to not rob a future house if it has that trap if you do show it to me. If you do not, I promise no such thing wink

I don't know what it says about me that I did the same thing when I died: I chuckled as I saw my small collection of pixels dead before me. It wasn't horrifying, nor heart-wrenching, but funny. I've just been playing this game too long to really feel angry; it's just all part of the experience.

When I die, these days, I get a very short heartsinking feeling, then a short "heh, that was dumb" thought along with a chuckle and then I've moved on.

I would like to know what my bounty was and commend you on the mental trick of your trap, reminds me a lot of one of my own traps, which should have let me spot it ofcourse, but oh such is life.

Your last name is Santiago btw and I am guessing you quickly saw the bounty and started editing, since I can't seem to find you in my list anymore.

#32 Re: Main Forum » This is where we celebrate a selftest » 2014-05-05 09:52:01

I'm trying to build a specific house but I keep dying in selftest! I am up to the point I was before dying last time now and I just survived selftest! Woo!

You are Raymond Lawrence Estes!

No, there are many of us who feel inferior in the company we keep here.

#35 Re: Main Forum » Im amazed. » 2014-05-02 13:54:37

my value changed ages ago. Thanks though! I bet someone got happy!

#36 Re: Main Forum » Im amazed. » 2014-05-02 11:31:11

If anyone's doing santa runs my recently restarted house could use some money for another trap.
1700 value. I'd be ever so grateful.

#37 Re: Main Forum » Giving back a little » 2014-05-02 10:11:21

Thanks shacklebolts! The recent influx of suicide 2k robbers targetting low houses is quite annoying indeed.

#38 Re: Main Forum » Im amazed. » 2014-05-02 09:00:43

I was just in there. Seemed like too much of a trap and the 500 in the vault didn't seem worth bringing two meats to calm down those dogs.

#39 Re: Main Forum » Let me tell you a short story of bile and vinegar. » 2014-05-01 12:20:18

Another one just tried to 2k me when my value was at 600. This one did not succeed however and his tools was sold and went towards those concrete walls I was talking about.

#40 Re: Main Forum » Let me tell you a short story of bile and vinegar. » 2014-05-01 11:30:18

You bring up some good points, tiger, I think part of my bile stems from the fact that it has taken me a few days to get a proper starting robbery this time around, so I -finally- had a house up worth its salt. I expected a few notool people dying so I could put in some concrete walls before letting my value rise high enough that people with more tools than sense would show up. It's already hard enough getting a house started, behavior like this does not help.
I am honestly more upset about this than I would be if I had lost a long-running house to selftest or my own death while robbing, because it's just senseless destruction for the sake of destruction. If I rob houses under 2k with my 2k tools, I suicide at the vault. Instead of ruining someones house, I show them weaknesses and then give them abit of money to be able to patch it up. I don't spend 2000 dollars of tools to get 199 (that was what the second robber got) out of a house.

#41 Re: Main Forum » Let me tell you a short story of bile and vinegar. » 2014-05-01 10:49:42

And we wonder why people don't keep playing this game? I have no problem with my house being legitimately solved, or even bruteforced, when it is worth bruteforcing. But ffs.

Brand new house. Worth starts out at 1200. Person with 2k in tools (3 saws, 3 water, 3 meat) comes in, carves a path to the vault, which is not 2k proof yet, I admit it, but I was at the computer, expected to add some concrete before my worth got higher than 2k. Worth is now less than 300, as the vault had some tools. Next visitor. A dude with 5 saws, also carves his way to the vault. WTF? Give me a break! All the vinegar! ALL OF IT!

my fav trick lately is try to club one of the kids on the trigger lock (wife must be out of site) or she will trap you when she goes to the kid.  This way you can come back and club the wife as she wont' be able to pick up the shotgun.

I was doing this in a house and forgot the wife would beeline right back to the kid. Walked right into her. Damn you GABT!

#44 Re: Main Forum » Has this game died? » 2014-04-25 20:58:14

Yes we really do need more players. The game is great as it is, but it could be so much better. That being said, a lot of what you are experiencing as a frustrated new player, was also frustrating for new players when this game had a larger player base. Stick with it, you seem like a swell dude and this is a really nice community. If you have any questions, read some of the faqs, or Cylences excellent guides that he already linked to, or even if you don't want to do that, just post about it and some of us 'veterans' are going to help you out, because that's just how people on this forum are. Stick with it, once you get over the steep learning curve, this game is so awesome.

Did you put any dogs in dangerous places? Or mostly where they already where/behind dead animals?

I just harvested Semple and he's still safe, but DAMN you left the dogs in some scary places man!

If she has the shotgun and you are next to her, which you need to be to club her, she will shoot you.

I checked semple's again. definitely fewer loose dogs, but still enough that I'm just gonna leave 2k sitting there smile  i'll check back later today, hopefully a few more will've been clubbed by then.

thanks, though smile

I visited it again, looks exactly as I left it. The dogs you see all get caught behind corpses of other dogs. You can harvest Semple safely.

#50 Re: Main Forum » Jason - 'Sale' is a sillly word, make thousands daily based on 'sale' » 2014-04-24 21:29:03

He's trying to persuade Jason to put the game on sale despite having publically said, before release, that he would never. I'm not against a sale, but it will not happen.
He goes on to remark that he makes a lot of money himself and his wife buys lots of things on sale.
