Any progress?

Have you noticed that dog before?

Edit: Most people only notice after successfully crossing the east trapdoor, and open the second door to find an insta-death they didn't expect.

who robbed geyer?

From what I know this person had been getting in some good scouts on two accounts per day.
He/she ended up getting half way through the dog wall in the center of the map and found one of the vault locations in a last ditch panic run. Grats to whoever this was.

House will be in a broken state until I get time to move the vault to a new location.

The three tiles in blue are the path the dog on the right walks when he is seen. If you haven't noticed him before, this dog powers the trapdoor pictured.
hint: there's only two buttons on that path (one is on, and the other is off).

Nope. DMScott is not dead. He is on the business trip right now smile

Is there a reason you aren't on the house directory listing?

Iceman, was this you? but then you mentioned you died "stupidly," so not sure where that is.

I've been scouting your house for probably 2 weeks now, and have gotten fairly far in.  The last 2 days I died stupid, stupid deaths, but today I was able to figure out a lot.  If the one who got pretty far used 2 saws and a wire cutter (along with a meat and a couple of waters), that would be me.

And of course, the cost for not dying stupidly in Jensen's house was dying stupidly in Geyer's house...

Ah. I hope you weren't dying to the entrance. But yeah, you've gotten decently far in. I'm not sure which runners are you so I'm not sure on how many branches you've explored yet. Your last run should set you up to explore more though smile

Back in my robbery days in the lives before Jensen, I played with that southern Cat for a bit. Nice house.

Sad to hear you go man. Hopefully you can stop by and visit once in awhile. The robbing portion of the game is less paranoid filled and is a great break game (slowly building up maps when you got 15 minutes free).

So what's the threshold to keep my house value at to bring in the 2k attackers but not worth while for the pros?

My line is $4k. Stay above $4k and you should have a stream of visitors until $10k. Then spend $6k on upgrades.

Pros can hit you any time. Although not having a set of paintings helps deter them. And even if they do, it's not like your starter place can't be easily rebuilt off the back of lower tier robbery.

I liked your place a lot. I had solved most of the entrance, and had plans to go further, but I was waiting until I had a house to store those paintings in. I know what you mean. I'm questioning how much time I'm spending here. It's hard to kick the habit. Sorry I don't have the painting incentive for you anymore. Good luck robbing smile

... Come rob me ...

Welcome to the forums Yoda.

You'll learn more and faster if you visit everyone, record their designs and figure out how they work by mimicking solving them in self test. It order to understand how to stop a robber, you must at least know how they think and being one is the best way. If you haven't used castledraft and robbed a house through multiple visits over a few days, then you really haven't robbed yet.

When you finally have learned what you needed to get past one house by visiting and figuring out small parts of many, you'll have the knowledge and the bankroll to start your own.

So... Come rob us. smile

Hmm.. I don't get your "i don't get it." What don't you get?

I can follow the flow of power.  I understand the mechanics of each tile.  what I do not get it how the hell one comes up with this design, how to recognize and deduce the likely correct path/dance, or how to modify and implement a design based on this into my own house.  seems too much to mentally juggle.  kudos, though smile

As I stated in the guide I wrote, I not fond of combo locks or clock because of the space they take up. Leaps of faith are so compact, require a pet, and are based on timing. For all these reasons, they are my bread and butter.

At the core it's a "magic dance." I really dislike the term "magic dance" though. Both leap of faith, and magic dances use pets to push buttons for a robber to advance. I'd rather call it pet manipulation, but no need to rework an established term. I think it was only referred to as "magic" because people couldn't understand how it was done.

You are just missing the knowledge of pet movement. If you don't understand how pets move in relation to the robber, you should really play around in self test using windows. Then try to figure out pet movement priority, causes some pets to stay in place or move apart depending on the direction. This is all something you can play around in self test with. Once you understand how to move them, you can then use them to be required to push buttons for you that you can't when going through an area.

Along with understanding power flow that you already know, you pretty much have everything you need to create something similar. Just place your trapdoor and electric floor somewhere, then put a power button somewhere unreachable but reachable for a pet and viola, instant trap.

From a robbers perspective, you have know when buttons trigger to figure out the no tool solution.

Hopefully I've inspired you to play around in self test. Even if you have an already established house, you can still play around in self test. I usually clear my front, then surround it with panic buttons so stray dogs can't chase me, then setup lights to test things out. Good Luck smile

So, from the last few houses I've built, they've barely been on the market before someone with well above 2k tools bust up in there and just wrecks the place...when I am worth about 50 bucks from both my wife and my vault...not cool man not cool

But so, instead of whining and complaining about it till now, I just decided to feed back into the community some, by running into people's places and dying in the worst and best way I possibly can think of. Sometimes I just scream yolo, and run straight down what I know is a magic dance. Other times I just look at a set of doors, knowing full well that there may just be a pitbull behind them...and I scream yolo!
So, a lot of you have gotten a visit from me, as I replenished some money out there for you
always brought 5 saws, and I never used them even when I could. So, enjoy your money

Thanks for throwing some money into the economy. Did you map out places while you were handing out the tools?
