makes sense... but I could just tell my buddy i have $8000 and then watch for him raiding my house... wouldn't be hard

While it isn't hard to find out your names as long as you have a buddy who also plays, I find it a fun little quirk to the game, no real mechanical value, but the flavor in the fact is abundant.

So to prevent people with friends from abusing their situation, we don't let the people without friends know their name.

This mechanic must be working as intended.
