Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

But 6 times $200 is only $1200. That's a trivial amount to spend on breaking a house for the fun of it for someone who isn't poor. Canales just robbed $8000 from me (amused to see it took him 30 saws plus), so had the cash to spend. He's the sort of player who smashes things up after reaching your vault, though.

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

Yeah, I was amazed to see the $40100 bounty. I was very amused to see you walk straight into a pitbull, assuming that the house was totally undefended. Keeping some spare pitbulls around in case of all your cash being taken is a great idea. (Can't believe I only learnt recently that they could be moved for free). The period 3 clock isn't meant to be a puzzle, it's just a commit gate. However, most people are poor players and couldn't even work it out.

I'm also amazed that you had racked up a $40K bounty despite having quit the game! I should have known it was you!

Also, I only just realised that you lost your house matthias. What happened to it? Happy to be have been able to finance your new house though; looks interesting smile

Had a lot of travelling and train journeys and still had the app on my phone so couldnt resist. For such a frustrating game I am finding it really hard to let it go. As for the pitbull I new it was there from when I broke the house, just got a bit over zealous when hitting the keys smile means my house desgin still has never been broken by anyone but me killing myself big_smile

Ah, a mistaken keypress rather than surprise isn't as funny. I wonder if we'll see any more from you. I suspect you've already suicided my house again (walked into the pitbull?)

Hmm, I guess you can probably play the game just fine on a phone even if you lose the connection for a minute at a time. Hadn't realised that.

Amazing, Ronald Mcdonald just visited my house. It's too bad that I don't see his house in the neighbourhood!

Not running again atm. Been actaully working for a change. The phone works pretty well. I have made a few rules for my self when using phone. Only do house that are obvious. Nothing that takes more then 1k tools. And try not to get to clever. As for connection I do a few changes between videos and house list to see how quick the connection is before I risk entering a house. As I have been burnt by dropped connection before.

With the last house I did make some progress with smith. So I might have to start a new house. Cant let eppfel rule forever.

We'll make it eventually more tolerant of network loss, but it's going to likely require changes on the server side making it incompatible with the public TCD server. Or at least some features would be.

Yes, indeed!

One Month Domination Anniversary

I started this thread one month ago and Mr. Smith's vault is growing since. I am aware that it is only possible, because of the low player base, but still the house survived some exquisite robbers and a lot of expensive brute-force attacks, I managed to rob all houses that became too rich to endanger me and survived several self-tests.
And now it is time to celebrate. It starts to get boring changing combinations over and over again and with every self-test I risk throwing all the $$$ down the toilet. So, I celebrate by slowly uncovering the map of the house. Starting with ...

The Zick-Zack Cat

A trap I created way back, when I had to find an easy solution to secure some money, but did have the time to build a complete house, yet.
5wUPZew.png
The green and red lights are just for explanation purpose. The mouse always is forced back onto the green tiles, but some of the red tiles are deadly. In order to pass through the door the player has to step from the green tile at the entrance on the upper or lower tile to move the cat top or right. If the cat reaches the power-tile it has triggered a switch so the door opens and you can pass. Later I added a commit with the trapdoor, which is powered, when you step on it by the cat moving down again. (It won't die in the pit, because there is a dead cat)
What helped my house sustainably was the south electric floor path, which is just a red herring.

First, I'm still here.  I'm not as active and I haven't set foot in Smiths house for a long while now.

@eppfel, congratulations on your first month ruling over the realm of the Castle Doctrine with house Smith.  With Case and Rodriguez before, your skills as an architect run higher than the rest of us could wish for.  Your explanation of your first trap is interesting as you know from the solution I was using, there is another way.  In the future, you could reuse this style of trap with a window positioned, making an up or down solution impossible.  The door would have to open somewhere else, of course.

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

Clay's entrance is a Smith copy.  Is it the multi-account player who robbed him?  Whoever, they have rushed their design and not made it resourcefully (not that they have to with that much cash) as from the entrance, you can see a powered door that can never be powered... oops!

Edit: it seems Clay reads the forums - he's removed that powered door and replaced it with concrete.

I hope it isn't the multi accounter who defeated smith. I haven't seen him on the list yet. I hope Cullmans reboot has a better way of forcing people onto the house list as i am convinced there is a load of people that are never on it. i.e all the robbers of smith who came with loads of tools but had never been seen on the house list and only had a bounty of $600.

It feels really painful, doesn't it.  However, that's one of the great things about the game.  With every step, you are risking it all!
