Got something big in the works. Announcing it next week.

My guess is the owner of a house gets the money from a victim they killed?
Edit: Just saw the page name, probably not what I thought it was.

I meant the in-game money they have in their vault, rather than just the tools. I doubt this now though due to its name "permadeathContest", and what I thought would probably just be a small change rather than something big.

It could be a contest on the perma-permadeath server...

OMGOMGOMG. I have no idea what this is, but I'm excited.
I'm guessing it is indeed a contest on the permadeath server. Maybe last man standing?
You mean real money?
The $3000 seems important. I briefly entertained the thought of it being real money. A real $3000 prize? That's an interesting thought, but that seem unlikely unless it's also going to be used to draw in hundreds of new players.

That's what I am thinking as well. But not sure if a perma-permadeath server is the right place for the contest then Unless this is gonna last for a prolonged period of time so that new players can learn the game as well.

Last man standing on permaperma seems reasonable. Something cooler might be in the works, though. A competition, with real money tied to each player account, distributed between wife and vault normally. If you're robbed, that money is taken, and when you die, you get to keep the money you had at that point (or it goes to your killer!).
However, I agree with Matrix that this would only appeal to the hardcore players; what the game needs, instead, are new players. Looking back to when I started playing, I would have been out of a permaperma competition before I even tried to rob a house.

Well, since people are discussing it here...
The idea is to announce it a week before it starts, to let new players join the game and learn how to play by practicing on the regular server. Then after that week, the permadeath server would start up as an alternative server, and it would run for one week.
This would make it more fair for new players.

seeing as you're still updating etc, has this been postponed?

Well, I realized that I need to make a video about the game first (so that people who become interested in the contest can quickly learn about the game). Making a video takes a ton of time.... still working on that right now!
