Tool dropping in houses is making this game only playable two ways.

Long-time player here and I have seriously realized something in the past week or two. There is slowly becoming ONLY two ways to play this game.

You spend your starting $2000 on house construction and wait for 0/0 houses to make money.

OR

You spend your starting $2000 on tools to try and make some money and either die/suicide or get a vault and then make a house.

BUT here are the two problems with these.

1) With the extreme amount of players added to the game in the last 2 weeks, its almost impossible to get smaller houses like 0/0 and make small amounts of money. So going for the first route of spending $2000 on building and trying make a little money here or there takes forever and I end up doing this for like an hour (literally): http://thecastledoctrine.net/forums/vie … php?id=661

2) There is no point to scouting with no tools because someone will INSTANTLY get your vault and steal your money so (almost) everyone ops to buy tools instead. And because of the tool drop, this leads to A TON of people dying in houses and giving the top people MORE AND MORE tools (money).

I have been very active on these forums and seen ALOT of ideas to improve/balance the game. I know Jason and some of the community (including myself) was just having a great discussion about tool dropping last week and possibly making a change.

I am NOT trying to just complain but trying to start an honest discussion about possibly fixing a part of the game that seems somewhat broken to me.

This could be solved by extending the 5 minutes that the game takes to add your house to the list. 10 minutes, maybe? 5 for scouting and 5 for robbing.

I usually scout houses quite a bit before I get $2000 of relevant tools, and I've never come back to my house raided so far.

Perhaps there could be some incentive for $2000 robbers to escape from the house, and not to spend all their cash on tools?

@colorfusion. You leave $2000 in your house, its a 0/0 house and it doesnt get snatched up ASAP. Thats impossible. And @Masterpain there is no 5 minute delay. If you walk out of your house its on the server.

There's a 5 minute delay I believe. It's not impossible, because I've done it many many times.

ok. well I must of missed that in a newer version. thats good, atleast I can have 5 minutes to try and get a little cash and only give people bounty deaths from scouting and leave mt $2000 in the vault.

I remember seeing a post from the developer saying the time was changed to five minutes around the day of the Steam launch or the day after or so.  It was pretty ridiculous how much money and how fast it was being made from $2000 0-0 houses and $1000 1-0 houses.  You definitely can no longer "farm" those with ease.

I made a house, had a lot of bounties coming in, now I'm swimming in $$$.

Scouting is very important. With some luck and that, you'd get the vault in a few seconds.

You have to think about obv. things, and thats it.

I don't scout *blinks* Just go in with a set amount of tools, and try to rob a place. If you fail, try again tomorrow *Shrugs*
Though I do move slow enough and I've broken into the most random combination traps...

This is almost always true.
