You left your house due to inactivity...

I just had my first successful robbery after almost dying in a hard as fuck deathtrap and was happy as balls for finally having more than just 2000 to work on my house, then I started working on my kickass defense system, but suddenly I had to leave to go to the toilet before my home was complete and when I returned I saw the message that I had left my house because of inactivity. When I returned I saw that some asshole had killed the wife and stole all the money from my defenseless home...

Please, get rid of this feature or at least let us stay idle for more than just five freaking minutes when we are just working on our own homes.

There is a discussion on the Steam forums where the developer has made some comments on this subject. - http://steamcommunity.com/app/249570/di … 798127933/

Re: You left your house due to inactivity...

One of the posters there was right on the spot, this limitation is pointless because players who don't want to respect it can just use programs like Auto Keybot. Besides, just 5 minutes is unreasonable because it isn't enough time to use the toilet calmly or to stretch yourself or rest sore eyes or read an trap guide on the wiki or get a phone call etc... The game is the one that ought to be flexible to the needs of the players not the other way around.

I agree with this in theory.  In practice, it doesn't always make sense.  It definitely starts to make less sense as many players can each have contradictory opinions as to what suits their needs.

I got booted out from build mode due to inactivity while reading the wiki one time.  I haven't been booted again now that I know.  My problem is solved pretty much.

Re: You left your house due to inactivity...

i am sure it is longer than five minutes on the building screen. my monitor turns off after ten minutes idle, and i have come back to many a stand-by monitor and still had my builder able to run around and resume.

edit: well i have a funky client that likes to keep pinging when i am not moving, it seems. cool!
