Possible bug found

This has happened a number of times today.  After leaving a house I just scouted, I am unable to return to my house because it is currently being robbed.  Only to discover there are no Security tapes or increase in cash after I do gain access to my home again.

Has anyone else seen this?

Your allowed 3 steps into my house.  Any more than that and your mine.

Re: Possible bug found

Maybe they're simply standing by the door without even taking a single step in your house and after 2-3 minutes they leave your house leaving no tapes. (I think the robber need to at least take one step to leave a tape, but i could be wrong.)

Ah! that makes sense nothing to record because they just wanted to rest a bit.  Thanks Vegeta9001.

Re: Possible bug found

I've seen this myself. Leaving counts as one step (I think - can anyone confirm/dispute?), so there might be a bug.

I can confirm this.
But I don't like the idea of people peeking in my house unnoticed, because they can see my wife from the entrance and I am very jealous!

She's a hottie too eppfel, you bagged yourself a good one. Oh and the pies she make while you're out robbing, delicious, gotta say.

So, if you know her so well, what's her name then? ;-)

What she likes me to call her can not be written here in good conscience since children might wander in here and read it.

I observed these two canoodling by a fountain near the hotel.  Scandalous!

Re: Possible bug found

Just checked the code:

.
// log any robbery where something semi-interesing happened:
// if tools were used (or dropped in vault) or if robber took
// at least 1 step in.
// (Don't log cases where a robbery carrying nothing stepped in
// the door one step and then left)

The point is that there is no log for "peek in" scouting trips where someone realizes they have the wrong house and leaves immediately.  Those are pretty boring to watch.

Actually, I think that a true doormat suicide would leave no tape, even though it would leave a bounty.  I'll check this and fix it.

Re: Possible bug found

I have a 1 step doormat suicide tape, with a $64k bounty on it. It is my favourite tape.

You could probably lose the 3 steps tapes as well, or a delete tape button! wink

Re: Possible bug found

Yes, that happens when the robbery disconnects mid-robbery.  Nothing is known about what moves the robber actually made, so a fake doormat suicide tape is put in place so you at least have some clue about where all that money came from.

However, up until now, a TRUE doormat suicide where the robber had no tools did not leave a tape, in which case a "mystery" bounty would appear in your money balance with no explanation.  I just fixed that so that every robber death leaves a tape, even doormat suicide.
