What happens when you are robbed and you have no wife?

Do you just lose everything instantly and do not even get to see the security tape of the person who robbed you?

You lose all of your money and tools in your vault, you don't die though. You still get a security tape and can recover if you manage to solve your broken house and then rob someone using no tools.

I did that twice this life and am now sitting around 12k i think after buying a painting. It can be done.

Yeah I've robbed the same house of first 14k and 12k days later. It's great when someone whose house you know from earlier visits work their way up again ;D
