One step video?

I just saw a video of a 2k robber standing on my welcome mat and he just left.  The video recorded one step.  I've never seen a video record any less than three steps.  Has anyone else seen this?  I thought you had to enter the house before anything was recorded.

I've had a single onestep video and also found it odd when it happened.
