The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

The house of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith has been around for some time now.
I consider it finished and its security proved against the first brute-force attack. He came in with about $24.6k worth of tools, but didn't get very far.

Later he risked everything and left a neat bounty..

I plan on dominating with this house. So, if you just sit in your house counting your money, I am going to brute-force you.
To spice things up, I reveal a basic trick to my beloved community: To surpass the first trap, you only need to step on the first three tiles.
So, better keep robbing me!

Maybe a chain-robber: Suicide scouting until you hit something and then repeat procedure until you got the top house. Then his name would have been totally knew.

@Eppfel, I'm sad that you gave that hint.  Now I'm houseless, I might have to take another crack at solving Smith!  Now where is my old map...

Three people already knew the trick. I hoped the increased competition would foster my fortune. But so far nothing interesting happened.

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

I found my old map and after a scout yesterday to get started, I can now reach about as far as I did before (well, not quite as far, but close to it).

I know what I have to do to go further, but it could take a while to find the right moves...

I have finally made a house that so far is slowly bringing in the $$$ which has meant i have been able to start doing some actually tool scouting. Only problem is someone keeps beating me too it big_smile I had Ducan mapped out and was waiting for his price to rise a little, then he went. Then i had White and now his price has dropped from $10000 to $260, so need to find someone else. Don't think it is going to be Smith though i am still a novice robber big_smile. Main problem is 2 or 3 of the houses all have the same start (Mr.Martin start as i call it big_smile)

Edit: So i killed myself with 10k cash and 50k house by accidentally double tapping a key by mistake. giving away a 19k bonus.

Edit 2: Thanks to everyone for being so inactive tonight i managed to go collect my own bounty big_smile

My problem is there are no middle ground houses. Its either build with the starting 2k or nothing. All the houses that have more then 2k to crack are impossible to get through with 2k tools... i have been trying sad

@Passive, I agree there.  However, it's not impossible to start from 2k.  It's just not as easy as it used to be.

I'm going to do some santa runs - Now and again in 2 hours.  If you have a house, now's a good time to be in it!

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

Most of the top houses need tools to progress.  By that I mean tools to see how they work so a tool-less solution can be devised.  More Santa runs delivered!

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

@Eppfel are you manning?  Saw him come through and totally brute force my house today, weird thing is after he robbed me I still had 3k in my house (wife long dead).  I'm totally thankful as it allowed me to rebuild, but I'm not certain why there was over 3k left after he robbed me.  There were no other security tapes, total mystery to me.  Anyhow who is manning?  Eppfel?

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

Eppfel is Smith.  Who were you, Thoth? I saw one house (McBride) that had been robbed.  I donated tools and my $100 bounty to help out.

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

I have also just done some santa runs. After getting my house back to ware to was i got bored of waiting so went tool scouting only to mess it up and die. I have decided i am too active for this game. Every time i get a good house i get bored and wanna go robbing which always ends badly. This time i was 1 water short of getting out sad and had 12 waters back at vault.

@Passive, keep it up. When Cullman launches his reboot, he plans to address issues such as 'my house is too valuable for me to rob others' by letting players have multiple houses in different realms.

I think it would be less of a problem if the community was bigger.  Right now you either get you $$$ from santa runs or blank houses pretty much as most of the other houses are now so well defended that you struggle to scout any distance without committing. If there were more people equaling a better range of house difficultly it would be a lot more fun to be active.

I reckon if Jason broke his "no sales" policy this game could get its second wind for a little bit at least. And as someone who paid full price it wouldn't bother me if someone else got it cheaper if it meant that this MMO was really and MMO not a multiplayer of about 10~15 people.

I also think there is quiet a number of people who keep there houses of the active list. I see the same names popping up on security tapes but never see their houses on the lists.....

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

@AMWhy  Smith is his primary home, but Eppfel definitely has an alt.  And yes, I do believe McBride is my current name, you'll see my standard dog race to shut off the power of the trapdoor front porch.  Just before Manning robbed me there was another that came in with 4 ladders guns, his bounty was $3300.  I'm guessing that because they were so close in time that they are related as it wasn't but like 15 minutes till manning came in with 8 ladders and a way bigger load.

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

All I've robbed lately is a couple of 4k houses.  I think Wildman could be Eppfel's second.  The start is very similar (but a little different) to Smith's.  I'm making progress with Manning (as long as he doesn't change his start).  Manning has/had an alt too - the later part of Manning's house is very similar to another house, but I can't remember the name and can't see them now.  Riley looks crackable to me...  I'll have another go at his house now smile

Edit: Just cracked Riley tool-less.  I'm in two minds about taking the safe or not (stood right in front of it now).  The house was too easy and I think the last trap isn't working right.
Unless that was intentional...  I'm going to leave it for now.  If the owner doesn't change it, I'll take it next time.
