Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

Still no one, but AMWhy.. Respect for the endurance with the combination of the dog. It is really odd you didn't hit it by chance by now.

Matthias I'm sorry, but I said I would crack all top houses. Your house looked magnificent. I would really would like to see the whole. The solution must take you a lot of time.

And I#m only Smith right now. I do not have any other houses and do not scout right now.

Nope, the tools were 20k. I did not need to buy them. So I made a reasonable profit. You could have tried to crack mine with your money...

Really cool house. I was very confused, when I reached the room with the two buttons. And then my saws ran short.. made it barely to the safe.

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

@eppfel I know there are just 4 switches there from past ventures and a recent scouting.  I know the first one (I can see it.  I also know they all have to be on.  That means there are just 8 until now I've not been working methodically.  I'm going to start though!

@matthias your house was very interesting!  Knowing what I know about Smith's, it took me a long time to get started on yours.  I look forward to your next venture.

Would it be possible for you to record one of your brute forces eppfel? Would love to see a proper one.

There you go: http://youtu.be/e377mOln_FQ

I chose wire cutters, instead of torches, because I was not sure, if north was really the right path. When I saw the second cat I really got scared of having not enough crowbars with me. I spotted the wooden walls and tried to saw through.
In the hallway of the chiwawa my first intention was to saw to the right. It would have saved a lot of time and tools. wink
After I found the dead-end room with the two buttons in the center of the map, I was thrilled. You can see from the tapes that I wanted to make sure I did not forget a possible other route, because the only option seemed sawing south and my saws were running low.
Luckily the set of tools proved just right.

Very nice. I think i have picked up a few things that i have been doing wrong:
Use the movement confirmation to avoid double taps big_smile
Never step on deadly things even if they aren't currently deadly. (You seemed to expect everything to be on a timer/trigger which is something i forget about)
Take your time don't just plough through (which is my normal method big_smile)

I think i might of even found out what my name is as well big_smile

On a side note is Felix your real name? If so that makes two of us big_smile

I step on deadly tiles, if I know the circuit is safe. But with all those animals around there, I could not be sure. Yes my first name is Felix, Felix wink

He was, but Smith is not interested in art, just in power. He found a house with a dead wife and now the contents of the vault are his.

His name was Reilly or something. A lot of doors and electric floors, but mainly a huge combo lock.

Yea that was Reilly. That was the last place i stupidly killed myself in. I got to combo lock had a look around and didn't have tools to get through so went to leave, went the wrong way and got trapped between a dog and an electric floor big_smile. Did you solve the combo or just push through?

My house is almost done, need about 10k for reinforcement i think. Its no Mr.Smith house but think it is the best i have done so far. Just did the self test and did 4 safe runs first with lights just to get it right big_smile

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

I was scouting the place with tools a few times. I had a good idea of the vaults location from the start, but found no cheap weak spot. So, I brought a bunch of saws to crack the combo lock and after that it was cake.

PS: So, you're Clark!

Guess i must be as i can't see that name. Just had a stroke of luck, a starter house (nothing built) holding $5k6.

Also i know the count gets reset when you build things. Does it also get reset when you buy/sell tools?

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

@Passive i think just a successful pass of a self-test will reset the count

EDIT: well failing a self-test resets in a whole different way wink

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

So, yesterday Smith grabbed White's savings. And today he changed some combinations due to someone finally getting the dog-dance commit. Congratulations AMWhy! Sry, for not appreciating your progress. Here is a little compilation of all the incarnations for your efforts and presents: 6sDDxiO.gif

Wasn't me.  I'm still concentrating on Smith (although he's changed the... something).  He must have died in a self-test.

Boom, first big haul:

IhQjYxk.png

First time i was making a castle draft map as well. Really does help. I solved it the time before but was one tool short. I was gonna leave it to earn some more money. but chickened out because i think i have spent almost as much trying to scout it big_smile
