@Matthias, has anyone crossed that first trap tool-less now?
Now, about that next part...

yes ='( but that was a nice trap =o

Edit: Major progress! I now expect Smith to make a few changes in the next two hours!
It took you 3 runs and in sum 6 crowbars to overcome 1 trap. I wouldn't call that major progress, but progress at least. Got some nice ideas for a new house for Mr. Kinzer, if you remember him^^ So, Smith is not my highest priority anymore. Especially because there is no contender besides you. I give you another 4 hours, good luck!

It did take a lot of tools, but now that I've used them I can pass it without them.
Check my latest run - I can now do the first 5 traps tool-less and I have info for the sixth. Reminds me of your front door!
Edit: I don't remember Kinzer, but I'm intrigued, for sure...
Edit 2: Oh, and I'm loving Smith's house! Such brilliant puzzles!

How could you gather a 4400 bounty in just a couple of hours?
Offline
6 hours. Some 2000 0/0, every time killing wife and safe. Some $0 0 0, ie. Keenan who has safe on door mat. Some actual robberies. Also some robberies just for 100 or 200 $. Like i have said before, i am too active for this game I need to learn to leave it a lone for a bit then i would stop killing myself

amwhy you are the only one who find the first trap =o ( but i'am sure u use tool before ='( ) but nice ! i'am waiting you to the second trap i change nothing
Offline
@Matthias, yep. I used tools a while back which let me know something about where the cat goes and which path to take. The rest I worked out by trial and error, eliminating what couldn't work.

i'am not happy with my house ='( only the entry is good the rest s*kc

Hey, it's better than a combo lock any day of the week!

Everyone knows a real safe has a lock
edit: Someone was keen for my wife Shame he didn't get to see her, double shame that he got away with his life

Too bad about your repeated loss, Passive. So that was a bug in the Android client?
I say! Down with combo locks! Just no fun. I've been trying to put up a house with no combo locks or hidden pet movements, but I keep losing it to self tests. Turns out that if you don't pass a single self test, you don't even get a record of your house layout in the log file . I'm going to edit the client and add an import button, and in future design my houses in castledraft. This is just too annoying.
Ah cool, so gyuri is John Eric Bishop. I was sad to see people repeatedly bruteforce your house when it is so simple to work out. Surprised you still haven't changed it.

Was on my PC, i think it might of been lag my end. My computer is a bit screwed (currently hotter then my radiator...).
As for down with combo locks, i would agree if i wasn't protected by 1 But I think hidden pet movements are almost as boring. Trying to think of something creative, but every time i do i look at it in castle draft and see just how easy it would be to brute force. Currently trawling trough old forum posts see if i can get some inspiration.

At least hidden pets are interesting if information leaks, but if it's a pet toggling combo lock switches then it's the same thing (but probably more secure).
Did you know that long ago the game used to provide blueprints of houses when you robbed them? Probably the intention was to make map peek cheating much less effective. Jason complained that the addition of the blueprints system resulted in most traps (including combo locks and hidden-pet movements) being useless and the only difficult houses being those which were almost incomprehensible. Quote:
If you were clever enough to design a really hard puzzle (basically requiring that you be a practicing electrical engineer---even I had trouble doing it), then you could keep people out for a long time and prosper in the game. Everyone else, however, would design a house that would be broken right away through the reveal of its internals.
Read the full blog post here; it's pretty interesting.
Got to be some good stuff from that era (I've starting looking into electronic gadgets). I'm inclined to try my hand at computer generated houses! It would at least be nice to use a maze generator plus a few pitbull or whatnot so that I can always put up a simple house for the amusement of other players, even if it's broken in a few hours. I think that if everyone could easily put up simple houses without a big time commitment (including just repeatedly the same $2K house with small changes) we would have far more houses on the list. That is the reason I want to implement an 'Import' function in the client.

Import would be nice. I have a few castle draft ideas that i am thinking of trying out. But am too competitive and i think they could easily be cracked if brute forced Part of me does want to make an interesting house for the robbers, but the other part wants to make one that might be boring but its really hard to crack or brute force Gonna just see how long my current house lasts. Its not finished but haven't decided what i am going to put in the next stage so just leaving as is for now. I'd say only about 30% of the house has been seen by anyone so should be ok whilst i plan

Oh yeah, I always wanted to be a Bishop.
People still die in it in the funnyest ways and it generates enough money to change what I want to change...
