Reyes and Nelson had their chance. So, after they both hit the $25k mark I had to bring them down. even made $10k and $16k profit from it.

The death of a family member makes everything permanent, even if the robber dies.

Were they good houses? they seemed to last a long time. From what i saw mainly magic dances and combo locks.

As for staying i think maybe a little break, or finding something else to fill my time and leave TCD just collecting bounties. My problem is i get bored and have to go and do something. Hence the dog clubbing. The guy has already spent the whole 20k bounty, didn't even leave anything to lure people in....

Seems Reyes is a multi account. Doing the standard have safe on the door mat, whilst grabbing 1k1's left in solved houses.... so skillful.

Edit: He also seems to have made an error when self testing as i just had a lovely tour of his house with all the death tiles changed for lights and dogs switched. Until the end were powered doors where still blocking the safe.

ya yay for passive! I have access to a friends account from which I do some santa runs every now and then, but I dare say this game would be dead without passive!

@Passive, nice vid.  Personally, I would have just gone ddduddddduddddduddd... Set the correct combo then gone for the safe tongue  I took about 10k from several visits to McDonald.

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

Guys, GUYS! Did anyone notice that Nelson had his dead wife on his doorstep (next to a live pitbull) with about $9500 of cash on her? And she'd been laying there for DAYS with noone noticing?!? I only noticed this morning after suiciding on top of her during a santa run, before going to bed. (I can't believe I forgot to take a screenshot!) And today I don't see Nelson; did you collect the money eppfel?

Hahah. But are you talking about Reyes, or a new name?

20k = 62 dogs so that could have backfired hilariously. I'm surprised he only bought about 6

That's odd. 0_o To my knowing, if you leave a dead wife with her money, the money transfers to the safe. But could be a bug. Like the one time Mr. Case got robbed with his wife long dead and $13k were still left in the vault.

So what you're saying is that if you put your wife in a far corner, have her easily killed, then block her in: you could have a second, impossible to reach without tools, safety net?  Nice!

Nelson was just one huge combo lock.
Reyes seemed to be the reincarnation of Mr. Jones, which had a clever house. I was surprised of finding the vault too easy.
Even if they both are dual account players, they were not able to rob me or protect their wealth.

Ehm, no. A lot of people left their dead wife lying in the house, but never have I heard of her holding money. You robbed Rodriguez and he didn't give his wife a proper funeral as well.

The key word was 'could'. The trick would be working out what causes the glitch.

Indeed, that would be quite the game breaker, although every tile can be broken by tools. By the way, are you scouting me without leaving tapes? Got two doormat suicides last night. And it seems you did not look at my "improvements", yet. wink

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

I checked my log files and found that the previous time that Nelson edited his house was roughly the 1st of November. If he simply never edited his house since she died then wouldn't it still be on her despite visiting the house? However that would require that he left his wife there to die on purpose while having $20K cash, and that whoever killed her didn't come back. So a bug sounds far more likely.

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

Not me.  I haven't visited for about 24 hours.  I started a house to raise funds to raid you, but that didn't work - I just lost the house by walking into a plain view pitbull, giving a 5k bounty to Mr. Johnson.

Okay then, time to go back to basics with Mr Smith. 2k suicide run coming up.

Edit: Damn it, you've changed the locks again! Combo breaker time.

Edit 2: 1 down... And I spy a new grate...

Edit 3: And a new solution needed to puzzle 2.  Now that will take me a while to work out.

@Eppfel, I keep forgetting about that new dog.  Just now I was killed by a crippled cat sad

@Matthias, of course!  While a tool-less run is the ultimate aim, I'll use whatever I can in the name of progress!

Yeah, that part can not be tested non-lethal. It really got my stressed out in the self-test. But I had to build more commits after you found out you could check more combos in one run.

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

@Passive - finally reading the rest of this post, so you're the guy who came in and killed my dogs!  BTW - I didn't even get to spend the bounty someone immediately came in and ate it, I thought it was all the work of a dual accounter, good thing I had more spare dogs!

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

@Matthias: I think it is fair to warn you, that I have to crack your house, if you won't "invest" your wealth.  I can't let AMWhy rob you, because he might rob me with the money. Go out robbing for once! Try my house, if you like^^

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

@Eppfel  where is the fortress haven't seen it all morning?

also to further the discussion on the dead wife thing, I recall a situation where all family members were dead, I was robbed, but after logging in and viewing the tapes since the robber and finding no deaths I was baffled as to why I had money?  I was thankful at the time as I got to rebuild immediately, so I did not complain, but it was weird nonetheless.

Re: The Fortress of Mr. Corey Phillip Smith

@thoth, that would have been me.  I used the money to make progress on Smith.  Of course, Eppfel has changed it quite a bit since then.  Progress is slow again...

Bold move! I was just about to rob you. But if you come unprepared my house is a waste of tools.
