v9?

Just a silly question: Is v9 around the corner?

I could try and build a puzzle house thingee at the moment but if v9 is soon to arrive I'll spare myself the hazzle of dealing with electronics that I suck at anyways. wink

Re: v9?

Brilliant! I felt like playing today but a look into each of the houses containing cash made me log out again.

Re: v9?

I don't know, I just couldn't be bothered. Whenever there's more than one switch operated by doggies, I just find it way too tedious.

The same goes for building at the moment. At previous versions, whenever I had a good idea for a house I could spend lots of time to try and get it to work. Right now, I have a sweet sketch of a bit-counting thingee that needs to be reset (in a non-obvious way) to unlock the house in two separate phases, but half way through building it, using a rope just felt more rewarding somehow...

Re: v9?

@largestherb - I hope it wasn't your house (Adam Tally or so) I just robbed. I honestly just wanted to take a screenshot of myself in front of the safe and then hang myself, but somehow that made me take one more step onto the safe. It was an hour of fun to figure out and I wanted to leave it in place. Well, sorry about that. Such is life. The Warhol is up for grabs again.

Re: v9?

Wow, I couldn't and still can't figure out that house to save my life. I'm pretty sure I understand 95% of it, but I don't get how to power the right part. It even seems to be a copy of the left part and I can turn that on. So... kudos I guess?

Re: v9?

Realizing it is back up and can still be broken, I gladly take the kudos and delete this info - it can be figured out, have fun! smile

Re: v9?

The server seems to have been updated to V9 now, client is coming soon.

If you get onto the server using your V8 client entering a house will instantly crash the game and kill you. I just lost my entire house from this so a warning to anyone else.

i came back from being afk for a few hours and tried to enter my house, crashing the game.

not bothered if it has lost my house, but maybe worthy of reporting as a bug? because that doesn't seem like an intended feature tongue

edit: oh okay, there wasn't a house reset. now i am quite sad i lost my house sad

Not so bad now that I just robbed two of the top houses:

Pretty glad I was fast on to take advantage of the mechanism changes.

Re: v9?

Yeah. I kind of feel it's moved backwards a bit now. V6-8 puzzles were annoying to solve, but they were at least puzzles.

Re: v9?

Well, V9 makes murdering families a lot easier. At least until they are protected by thick concrete.

Doesn't make it any easier for me to stop making dumb mistakes though.

Re: v9?

Sorry for anyone who crashed during the transition from v8 to v9.

Yeah, the protocols are incompatible (v9 uses encrypted maps on robbery).  I thought there was enough down time to clear everyone out, but I hadn't considered someone being away from keyboard on the menu screen.
