I was just wondering, if it wouldn't be a good addition for killed family members to slowly decay. Might be three states only, whitish, greenish, skeleton over the course of a week or so.

Umm... that's a rather ghoulish suggestion.
Greenish?
Time passage is a strange thing in this game for sure....

Well, I only realised that I have my dead family lying around still and don't really notice that much. One gets a bit jaded about that after a while. Some feeling of time passing since they have died might give the death of them a more permanent feel and bring the temporal layer more into it.
I think one might look differently on the blank bones of one's former family than onto the ever-fresh corpses. It's a reminder of how long you have been solitary. And also of how twisted you have become to let the corpses of your loved ones lie around your house for decorative purposes or as a testament to your mental break-down.
Oh, and the greenish was actually an attempt to be a bit less ghoulish, it's so unnatural. And it's clearly visible change despite the low resolution.
I mucked up something quickly but now I'm slightly freaked out by it myself.

This.
Although the way family-members bodies just lay there is morbid, I think the chalk outlines would be more respectful and sadder.
Hmm.. What about a gravestone? Or is that too cliche?

The police getting involved in this everyone man for himself dystopia?
What about a permanent blood stain even if you remove the corpse (a la Lost)?

I think a permanent blood stain would be a fitting reminder.

I dunno... I think the lingering bodies are fine. The game kindof takes place outside normal time and space constraints.

Oh, I meant if you HAVE to move the wife. Because often I'd like to keep her there, but I have to move her because she's blocking the only way out of the house. In that case a bloodstain would be neat. But that's probably not worth another tile type...
