castledraft.com — another house editor

http://castledraft.com

I made a rudimentary version of this site back when the game first came out, but abandoned it when Castle Fortify showed up.

Well, I finally got around to finishing it off.

Features:

- Import in castle doctrine format
- Save and share
- Support for tile states (torched, shot, clubbed, etc)
- Support for mobiles over static tiles
- Alt-click eyedropper
- Tooltips
- Prices/house valuation

Here's an example featuring all kinds of devastation: http://castledraft.com/editor/Glq4A3

Seth, if you're reading this — I love Castle Fortify and have spent many, many hours designing and solving houses in it!

Many thanks to largestherb for his tip top sprites and bug hunting skills.

If you find any bugs, or have any feedback/requests, please let me know.

Wow, amazing. I never expected to see even a single tool for designing houses, let alone two. I really appreciate you adding tile states by the way.

Awesome, I'll give it a go.
How do you place a busted tile manually by the way?

I still need to add the state tiles to the palette. Should be done soon.

Edit: State tiles are now accessible from the palette. Hover over a tile and its states will appear in a drop-down.

Sweet and useful after I decided to not abandon but reestablish my raided house (*Kirk voice:* KALLAHAAAAAAN!). With all those broken things, this is brilliant to plan out and keep track of repairs.

Re: castledraft.com — another house editor

Ukuko, castledraft is excellent.  I love all the different states of objects and ease of use.

All I can see missing are three things:

-Indicator light (on)

-Sticking Pressure Switch (down)

-Robber, both dead and alive (Although that is 4 variations: Pit bull death, electric floor death, pit death/trapdoor and  suicide)  Would also have to use the same rule as the safe and only allow one per map.

It would make it so you can set up EXACTLY what took place in a robbery, as in a freeze-frame.

Anyways, great work fella.

Dammit you are right.. I forgot about those suckers!  Ukuko, you got some work to do!

Re: castledraft.com — another house editor

some glaringly obvious things were missing.. ahem, like.. pits under crippled animals.. grids under fried animals.

i take full responsibility and hide in a corner shamefully

i am getting carried away with this tileset. i added a bunch and fixed a bunch. left out stuff like fried pitbull on top of a cut/watered grid.. even though..               .. ahhh no i must stop *runs away to have lunch*
tis up to ukukukukuko what he wants to add to the site though

hmm.. i imagine if you put a ladder over a dog in a pit the ladder is on top of the dog graphic... aahhhhhhhhhhhh

Re: castledraft.com — another house editor

Just made an update:

New tiles:

Electric floor: on
Rotary: on
Sticky switch: on
Indicator tile : on
Robber: various
Hot wiring

Now placeable: (previously import only)

Crippled pit bull, chihuahua, cat
Fried pit bull, chihuahua, cat

Examples:

castledraft-update-1.1.jpg

http://castledraft.com/editor/noGRkK

I'm sure there are still some obscure cases missing, like fried cat over wire-cut grid. I'll get around to that at some point. Maybe.

Oh, and I realised that triggered relays are missing. I'll do that too.

Thanks guys! Half of that stuff I didn't even realise was missing. (And thanks herb for the sprites!)

Edit -

Prices are now correct for trap + dead pet. Previously only the value of the trap would be accounted for.

Re: castledraft.com — another house editor

ukuko: Really awesome!  I like the menu-style dropdowns for multiple states - adds a whole new level of expressive capabilities while being really clean.. Glad to hear you dig CastleFortify!  Nice work with Castle Draft!

Don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but I can't see the new sprites on my browser..  They don't appear in the dropdown (just empty spaces) or the house layout.  The broken safe, all the robbers, hot wires and some of the pet states are missing.  The rest appears.  Also noticed the sleeping pit bull is mislabeled.. hmm..
