Another Full World Reset Coming

Sorry.... it seems like with the new, experimental pricing, a reset is really needed to test it.

Here goes nothing.

Re: Another Full World Reset Coming

Noooooooo!! My beautiful house sad. I was just spending 16k on some improvements when it reset.

I understand the need for a reset though, but the current volatility of the game makes me nervous to put that much effort into a house again, if it is just going to reset in a few days.

Good luck to anyone who can survive anything with the current building prices. Looks like there is not much room to do anything but protect your wife with an $800 pitbull and some walls. Vault defense? Only for the rich.

Just took your 'sorry' money Jason - sadly it is too expensive to take the wife's money as well.
(Ok, out of context that sentence is odd tongue).

Re: Another Full World Reset Coming

Oh, yeah, I forgot about that.  Maybe the multi-function nature of the crowbar needs to change.  Or maybe not.

Yeah, I think I've only done something like 3 full-world resets ever, in the history of this game.  I don't do it very often, or take it lightly.  I know that it destroys people's hard work.  I don't plan on doing it again, ever, if possible.

I saw that you were busy editing when I did the reset.  I emailed you privately about this.

That being said, just killed my first robber smile.

Just sent you a reply email smile.

What I mentioned in a different post about adding a new tool that only attacks close ranged targets could work, perhaps a bludgeon? Crowbars could retain their multifaceted role but be primarily for opening electric doors.

Re: Another Full World Reset Coming

It's alpha. No worries. Resets will happen.

I've seen so many game devs handle things way way worse, and not even have the slightest clue whats happening with the meta.

Re: Another Full World Reset Coming

I've been confused as to why the game is in 'alpha' - I thought alpha testing referred to 'in house' acceptance testing. Isn't this more like a beta?

Re: Another Full World Reset Coming

Although the definitions of beta and alpha seem to vary from dev to dev, alphas are generally used for feature implementation. Since we're still getting new features and introduced completely different game behaviors, it's more an alpha than beta.

Re: Another Full World Reset Coming

Yeah, beta to me means "feature complete, nothing going to change, just find the remaining bugs."
