Safe wife bug

I just robbed Timothy Ernest Alversion's vault, he had his family in a straight line behind the door with his safe directly behind and wooden walls surrounding them. After robbing the vault I returned to find the wife had mysteriously vanished with the vault broken but the house still having $980 in value. Checking the house again the wife was still missing.

Re: Safe wife bug

Thanks for reporting this.

That "tight" configuration caused the wife to "jump back" behind the wall after the vault was reached.  There must be a bug in the jump back code that is causing this.  I'll fix it.

Someone eventually cut through the wall and found her, by the way.

Re: Safe wife bug

My theory: Jason added the suggested "Love Potion" and someone somehow got hold of the development build.

Re: Safe wife bug

i feel like it was a plot in diagnosis murder. a vietnam veteran and policeman with ptsd bricked his wife and child up in his house because he thought it would keep them safe...

must've been quite amusing to find someone in the wall in this game anyway!

Re: Safe wife bug

Could a set up something like this potentially create an unreachable wife? Or can we shoot her from the doorway? (Haven't found a way to test that)

Re: Safe wife bug

Wouldn't she just shoot you after on step making the self test impossible?

Re: Safe wife bug

Yeah, I don't mean exactly like that.

With clever usage of pets and children there's likely some way to leave your wife set up like that after a successful robbery, which could result in a 100% safe house when someone figures it out.

I think you might be able to shoot through vaults and kill the wife, but I'm not certain.

Re: Safe wife bug

Yeah, I don't think the vault blocks gunfire. I thought the only way to have the wife appear anywhere but where she originally starts was to kill a child on her starting square (in which case I have no idea what happens to her). Obviously the above bug is an exception to that, but I at least think that is how it supposed to work.

Re: Safe wife bug

How about now with 2 range guns? Not quite sure how range works.
