How did I die?

I just logged on to find that I had started with a new home and $2000, despite not having died last time I played. I checked my recordedGames folder and the last one showed that I lived and exited in build mode just fine.

I'm guessing I probably had a brief connection error when exiting selftest, although this could be a bug with the game. I can send the recordedGame file if it will help.
