Version 29 Released

This release further improves the visibility shroud.  It also contains loads of little fixes that improve honor-system security between the client and the server and also thwart various potentially harmful player behaviors.

The biggest visible change in this release is the addition of a 10-minute maximum timer for each robbery.  You can no longer monopolize a house for hours by robbing it slowly.

A full list of changes can be found here:

Re: Version 29 Released

I see no countdown for the 10' robbery... will I suddenly die after 10 minutes?

[edit] I just read the e-mail, the timer starts at the last minute... That is going to send a rush of adrenaline, I like it.

Re: Version 29 Released

Well, it depends on how fast they press the keys, right?  :-)

And yes, the timer only appears in the last minute.  I didn't want to give the whole robbery a tense, timed feel.  So, it was kind of a hybrid.  Most people don't spend 10 minutes on a robbery, so most will never see the timer.

Kill a spouse and no bounty was received.  Not sure if this was intended, do we need to reach the vault as well to obtain the bounty?

Your allowed 3 steps into my house.  Any more than that and your mine.

You don't get your own bounty as money to spend, it's what people get when you die in their house (or someone dies in your home).

If you mean getting the money that their wife is carrying, then you have to step onto her body then leave or reach the vault.

You are correct.  Argh!  I left all that money behind.  Its bad enough that a robber breaks into your home but kills the spouse and leaves the money.  Now that is just mean!  My apologies to the home owner, I really did want to keep the money. sad
