Michael Elbert Price- untouchable?

Looks like he's been busy- last night, the top 8 were around $100k net worth, and now he's at $300k plus a ton of artwork whereas 2nd place is only at $50k. I don't know if his house being broken affects anything.

Some context: http://thecastledoctrine.net/forums/vie … 7816#p7816

If I had made it another day or two, I was going to try to wipe out the first couple pages myself to show how ridiculously broken bruteforcing is. But it seems jwg has made the case for me (again).

He sounds pretty confident that his house can defend against at least $50k of tools, so barring a disconnect or a mistake, I'd say he's going to be on top until he gives up.

Is his house really broken? How would that be possible if he's been out robbing?

Ah, so it was josh? Kudos to him. I'm glad I dodged that massacre. Anyway, all the more reason for Jason to balance using fuel and/or wheelbarrows. As is, Josh can pick off anyone that gets above $50k and stay on top for quite a while.

I say broken because it looks like he's got some animals in the pits, which could only happen if someone reached his vault or (more likely, given the amount of art he has) someone bludgeoned his family.

Oh ok, yea sounds like not broken at all. Sacrificing the family is a pretty common if you're going to the top.

Well, if we added fuel it would make me robbing those below me a little less profitable but it would make robbing me from below pretty much impossible so I think this situation actually argues against fuel...

Could you... make it so that your second account breaks your own maze? And then never log onto your first?

Re: Michael Elbert Price- untouchable?

If you had two accounts, sure. It wouldn't be very practical though, what's the point of having a top house if you can't rob people and buy paintings? Also, it's a bit exploitative, I'd prefer if people with multiple accounts kept their activities entirely separate. For instance, having one that just builds houses and plays it safe and a second that takes more chances and robs other houses.

Someone had probbably caused the animal to fall in the pit before and it never got changed when fixing it.

Re: Michael Elbert Price- untouchable?

I knew the weakest point was the wooden walls around the cat cage... And yet I let it be. Oh well, I bounced back...

Re: Michael Elbert Price- untouchable?

Yeah, I was surprised you had spent so much money and had so much and yet your house was still full of wooden walls...

Nice return - I guess you just went on a robbing spree with your wife's cash?

Re: Michael Elbert Price- untouchable?

My wife had around 1200$, just enough to patch the house with wooden walls and a few electric floors. Thankfully I remembered the name of a broken house with easy cash to start with...

Re: Michael Elbert Price- untouchable?

One question: would you have killed my wife if she was carrying 50k$? 100k$? I know you're not a murderer, but you know, these days...

Nope, Connel. I could go again and pick up 5k easily, but I'm paranoid you might visit me again. You go to bed sometimes, or to work? It's not healthy to stay a long time in front of the computer smile

Nope, but don't tell anyone, otherwise they might sell all their tools and keep half their money on the wife tongue. And I don't really need another $100k... taking out the top houses is more a defensive thing. And fun smile. I've learnt a lot about what not to do if you don't want your house brute forced.

I'm guessing you're doing some major reworking now?

I don't know... It is a brand new house, nobody has entered the main zone yet. I'm a bit reluctant to trash it all.

Re: Michael Elbert Price- untouchable?

I guess fix up those wooden walls and keep your house off the top list and you should be fine. Unless you have higher ambitions...

Re: Michael Elbert Price- untouchable?

Hum. In the next life, maybe. I just stepped on a sleeping pitbull. I was close to steal my favorite painting and got nervous. The beast was just up the wall, I could only see half of it. Or maybe I should blame it on ice's grayscale mod, everything is gray. Not my fault. Sigh.

Re: Michael Elbert Price- untouchable?

Ahh, that would explain why the house I just robbed had a sudden increase in value before I entered. Got a whole bunch of paintings out of it, forgot his name though. It looks like I must have robbed you again while you were off killing yourself. You'll notice I'm a fair chunk richer - you really should have moved that vault...

Which painting is your favourite? I guess you'll have to take it off me now smile.

Re: Michael Elbert Price- untouchable?

This was in Finn's house. How ironic! Now you even collect my bounties. The Sarsaparilla night is my favorite, very Sword&Sworcerish mood. I really like the two others (day and sunset), but I haven't seen them in weeks, maybe 2 months. I'm afraid they are lost forever. Jason, if you ever read my post, can you please check that they are still in some reachable house? Did they stay in the same house during all those weeks?

What? I moved the fault a few tiles south-east, and I thought you wouldn't wander too far around after reaching the fake cat. How did you proceed?

One funny thing is that I had 50k$ cash and 100k$ of resale value tools, way enough to have a try at your house. BUT... just one last robbery, to get my fav painting...

Wow. Hard to believe. I've been away from the game for more than one day since my last death. I log in and find that Mr Connel's house is still here, now on the top page, and still broken right up to the vault. The easiest 68k I've ever grabbed...
