You only get those tools if the robber dies. At least that's what I think you're asking about.

hmm/ this would be a much better thing . You wouldnt have to start from bottom ...you could just sell the items fix you house a bit and you would be ready to go again .

Although I do think bringing back Tool-drop in successfull vault reach would definitely help curb Brute-forcing w/o removing Brute-forcing??

It would probably encourage it, as you can just get back any tools that you left behind so don't have to really worry about taking an excess of tools.

I imagine most people just want to get and keep money, whether the homeowner gets to rebuild afterwards is usually of less concern.

Good point. I wonder, though, if it would make people try to spend all their tools after finding the vault to reduce the chances of a revenge robbery. But the pros definitely outweigh the cons.

Another thing, Jason wants the experience of being robbed without a wife to hold onto some of your money to be crushing and difficult. For one, it makes sure the wife is actually useful and secondly it fits in with the theme of violation. The ability to lose everything is an important part of the game.

Wll yeah , but build the house from start 2-3 hrs after you finished it ...and then waking up realizing you have to do it again ? XD

Thats just waste of time...

Generally you don't have to suicide if you get robbed, you can make the money back with a bit of patience in the lower level houses. The other thing to do is build it better next time, don't just rebuild the same thing that was destroyed last time with only 2k of tools. This way you are not wasting time but improving at the game.
