Is 24 hours freeze too long?

I have stopped building with my first 2000, because of the lower starting bounty a house without at least 2k to lure people in simply earn money too friggin' slow. This presents a new problem though, since I am not very good at robbing. I realize that it means I am putting alot of money out there, dying in good houses again and again, but it also puts a hamper on my own activities. Right now there are basically no houses with a worth between 5000 and 12000 on my list that are not frozen. Higher worth becomes impossible for me to break with the starting 2k (you might be able to, but I assure you, I am not) and lower just isn't worth it as with 2k tools I can't both get the safe and the wife in most circumstances. So after just an hour or so of playing today I am frozen out, basically, untill tomorrow. Thoughts?

Yeah, I dunno. This is a hard topic that I have gone back and forth on. I think the Chills at 24 hours is good and even with them getting a house to last on the top couple pages for more than a day is near impossible.

Well it might help at higher levels but it is putting a serious damper on the ability to start out with what might be below average robbery skills. And I just don't see how I can do anything worthwhile with the starting 2k in the terms of building.

Yea, I feel you. The only two options I see right now in the game are:

You scout houses with no tools when you first start out (you have a 5 minute buffer before your $2000 house appears on the server). You can then find a house that looks good and still be able to re-enter it in your same life with your $2000 in tools.

OR

You spend the $2000 on building and wait FOREVER for people to enter your house because its in the >$500 list.

I basically do the first option each day until I get a $5000 house and then chain rob to try and get a +$20,000 house and then build a sweet house....only to be chain robbed myself the very same night (most of the time). This game has a vicious cycle that I don't see any way of really changing.
