HOUSE CHECK-IN FAILED???!!!

Jason! I know that you enjoy watching us suffer and whine about loosing our stuff, but this was very annoying, and I would like to have my stuff back please!

I went out to do some scouting, and when I fled, pressurized by a pit-bull, I got a red error message: House check-in failed. And poof, everything reset to 2000, I'm staring at an empty house, as if I died.

I'm absolutely sure the dog didn't get me, I had at least 2 spaces between us, and I was running through a straight alley, with walls on both sides.

Yes, I have no life, I'm an addict, I deserve suffering, and you are a much more intelligent person than me anyway. Can I have my things back please?

It's unlikely you'll get your things back unfortunately, nobody has in the past.

Copy your latest recordedGame file into the playbackGame folder and start up the game, see if the same thing happens. If you've accidentally or purposefully modified the game, you might have sent an invalid move list to the server, you could reinstall the game and see if the recordedGame file still shows the same thing.

Otherwise, Jason should be able to find out what happened with his admin tools and server view.

Why? Seriously, this game is merciless, nothing wrong with that, but after about a week of finally learning how to play safe, test safe, scout safe, a silly error message kills my progress? FFS, I paid good money for this game!

And no, I didn't touch the game-folder.

I had this message recently when I left a house while I had lost my internet connection. If you lose connection, you can't prove to the server that you didn't die in that house, so to avoid "disconnection cheating cases", you're killed. Maybe you had a problem with your connection?

Looks like there is some kind of bug in the game client that somehow lets you "leave" the house multiple times at the end of your move list.

I'm not sure what's causing it, but it has happened 36 times in the history of the game, and it last happened to someone 5 days ago.

It's pretty rare, and this is the first time that someone reported it.  I'm really sorry that this happened to you!

Okay, I put a temporary fix in place server-side to prevent people from dying from this.

An updated client with a real fix for this problem is coming soon.
