Couldn't stop by because I couldn't find your house.
Yeah I died stupidly in a robbery. Then I rebuilt and died stupidly in a selftest. Now I am holding out fo a little bit.
I'm sorry cullman, but your house was easier to brute than there was money in it. As you said yourself, that's the problem with a house where you can see the vault from the entrance.
Edit: Also I needed the money to help me build up after I started over, as I died stupidly to a clever trap that I saw coming but still walked right in to like a dumbass.
Well now that you've dissected the first trap you should be able to pass that without tools!
well that probably won't be all that entertaining for you. but i did bring a bunch of toolios.
It was more entertaining than most robbers I see.
You got as far as most suiciders do, you just didn't die!
My jensen life will expire soon, so I'll be 2k robbing again with him, does this house have a listing above $4k? I'll come visit if so
If I get my value over 4k (2.7 right now but with a bunch of paintings) will you come visit me too? I long for intelligent robbers! I am Mr Pleasant.
if you just need it for selftest, put a powered electric floor and a cat in your house in the place where you know the pet will die.
Then test.
Leave house without touching vault.
Swap out for real trap.
Test, touch vault.
???
Profit!
I added a change to my house and then going through a different trap I realized that the dog that needed to hit that button was going to die way before we got to that part! My heart skipped a beat and then THANKFULLY I remembered that the same dog turns the trap on in the first place so it would never be 'primed' so to say. Phew!
And now it is in my coffers, thanks for the heads up!
The first trap in my house is a doggy leap commitgate and several people die on it. It is very simple. Don't hit the button, open a door, dog is behind it for you to cross the leap with. Anyways, what I am saying here is that we might be getting new players from somewhere, since I can't imagine anyone playing for more than a month or so without figuring out how to cross a doggy leap?
What do you think?
Wow i'm sorry, i think that may have been me. I died got annoyed and took out my anger by swapping his house up a little. Anyway if its any condolence to you i have retired from the game for now.
That is no condolence at all! Get playing!
*slow clap* I just dropped a 26k bounty in there and put 13 paintings back on the auction.
Worst thing was that I noticed the doors had been opened, even stopped in the intersection, but for some reason did not see the dog untill it was too late.
Your value just jumped to 11000 with no extra deaths. Successfull robbery?
I think there is a time limit to how long you can do that, but not entirely sure. I'd still say you are better off spending the money on improvements, untill you can no longer improve, then you buy paintings and use tools to scout other houses.

His wife protection is flawed too, the rascal!
I checked every house between 6000 and 8000 and did not find you. Are you counting tool value also?
I've picked up a few more pieces at discount prices over the last few days. Feel free to peek in to take a look. I stil do not own the Dermotillomanians, I mean a few serious attempts would be fun, but no need to tempt destiny that much.
I've been told my name but I keep forgetting. Look earlier in the thread to look at my house entrance. Value as of writing this, 7300 and 12 deaths. That info is just for if you want to come admire my art, please don't help yourself to the valuables. You may look, but do not touch.
That is a work of art in castledraft. An approximate value would make me look for the house, but without it I am not going to try. Sorry poor.
Hey, since pets are an integral part of family protection, I don't think pet movement is entirely off the rails.
I purchased four paintings at the recently discounted prices and I quite enjoy all four. If you want to admire my art, feel free, though you should know, Spike does not like strangers. He is on a leash though, but if you intend to leave the house again, you shouldn't walk around too much.
I figured it would be something about the game checking for validity of the move on all moves and -then- moving everyone.

I don't think this is true- if the dog moves first, the cat's in the way. If the cat moves first, he jumps in the pit, and then the dog can't move.
The first dog will keep moving, the second dog will be stopped by the first cat-in-pit. I don't know exactly why, I guess all pets move at the same time. But I've seen it.
THE BOTTOM KID IS WAY MORE EXPENSIVE. the top kid can be killed with i think only 3 guns and clubs. The bottom path requires a gun for each dog. the difference is not to do with the single or double tile hallway width, but just pet movement mechanics.

test it out. i think this makes southern family paths way stronger.
however, if you remove the pits, and just alternate dog/cat/dog/cat (like this: http://castledraft.com/editor/FjKqqD ), then the reverse is true: the south path dogs would all become clubbable, and the top path would all require all guns.
edit: added illustration
The top line can be cleared with one brick and then a club for each dog.
Brick the first cat, club the first dog, step on second cat, club second dog and so on.
The lower one fits more dogs. But to make it work optimally, you need someone to push those cats into pits. An easy way to do that is to, once you have all the pits and cats, remove the dogs and put your vault there, which will make the next robber go rob you for half your money (since your wife is hopefully still alive) and keep the cats that he puts in pits in those pits. That way you have a longer path of dogs, since you can place them in every other floor tile and it is a winding path rather than a straight one.
So the goal is to get the bottom one looking like this http://castledraft.com/editor/dPc2xo
Yeah, I've seen a few "animal presses hidden switch" areas, which technically is a magic dance, but no blatant "Dog sees you at start from 8 pits away and you have to dance correctly or use wire cutters for the next 30 steps" cases
I prefer 4 tile magic dances ending in a powered pit. Also in my current house, the actual dance to those 4 tiles is done long before you actually see the tiles.
