Another thing, Jason wants the experience of being robbed without a wife to hold onto some of your money to be crushing and difficult. For one, it makes sure the wife is actually useful and secondly it fits in with the theme of violation. The ability to lose everything is an important part of the game.

Wll yeah , but build the house from start 2-3 hrs after you finished it ...and then waking up realizing you have to do it again ? XD

Thats just waste of time...

Well I know what are you gonna tell me . Pratice makes master right, but if I do that all the time the rich guys get richer and my skills stay the same .

I've read a tons of stuff on this forum that is not viable to make less than 2k house and try your way up , but there is no other way .
The odds of me robbing a house that has 10-15 k is equal to me getting a jackpot , and if I keep doing this I will lost interest in this game .
Something needs to change hmm

been a loooooooooooooong time since tools were dropped into the vault on a successful trip.

hmm/ this would be a much better thing . You wouldnt have to start from bottom ...you could just sell the items fix you house a bit and you would be ready to go again .

What if the robber could bring fewer stacks of tools? Say.. 6.

Then trap diversity would become much more punishing to wealthy robbers, but houses that pile tons of resources onto the same mechanic would be just as vulnerable as before.

True I agree with you . There should be less stacks....like you said 6-7 then the rich guys would be abble to rob any1 they like smile

If you were at between $50 and $1000 in the last hour or so, you may have noticed a robber walk into your house with 5 saws and then die in one of your traps. That was me.

I recently lost all my money but before starting up again, I decided I'd go around doing my part to fight poverty. So I systematically hit every house I could below $1000 with 5 saws and died.

If even a few other players start doing this whenever they have to restart we can help players down on their luck, and make building a viable starting strategy.

hehe you  gave me 5 saws but ummm the second you died someone else came in and robbed me for around 2000 sad(

What about the rich guys ???

Its just not fair with us poor guys...they can delete their entire house and redesine it to some combination lock or clock work stuff . And we ( the poor guys ) don't have that chance. This is to frustrating...

Well I've been reading this forum for 2-3 days now . Found lots of tips and tricks , however it did not help me to make a normal house that I could play for days...

How would you recomend starting from the begining ?

I know the rich should never be invincible. I'm totally cool with that. But I feel that brute forcing is currently way too powerful. The practical limit of tools you need to brute force even the best house is easily below $200k. And if your house approaches those kinds of values, it's a no risk, no brainer to take you out.

jwg thinks it's too easy to get to the very top. I think part of that is how easy it is to take out the mid/top players with brute forcing. The entire first page of houses has been wiped out by a single player almost every day recently. That's evidence enough for me.

Here's a thought on how to handle that: what if you pay a surcharge (i.e. fuel) for stacking multiple tools. It could be something really minor like 5% per extra tool. This would not hamper new players, but it would protect all players somewhat from ridiculous brute forcing.

So here would be the total cost to buy and carry:

Current:
1 saw - $400
2 saws - $800
10 saws - $4,000
20 saws - $8,000
30 saws - $12,000
40 saws - $16,000

Proposed:
1 saw - $400
2 saws - $840
10 saws - $6,205
20 saws - $20,215
30 saws - $49,393
40 saws - $107,276

It changes the equation. $16k is a drop in the bucket for a rich player aiming to get a payout. But $100k+ will make you think twice.

This is the dummbest idea ever...

Why ?

You dont thing about newstarting houses that have only 2000$ ...

If you have 2k ...what can you do with that??? , sure you can make a nice house that will be broken in 2-3 hrs...and where is the fun with that?
I tried over 20 houses managed to rob 2-3 from that... just becouse i had my 2k starting tools... IF this kind of pricing would be in only the rich f***s would play the game...

Remember, you are going to permadeath OTHER players, and cause them to lose everything, with the traps you are building.

Would it be fair for you to be immune from the same fate yourself?

Perhaps what you are building is simply too dangerous and too deadly.

Seriously ?

Too deadly ??? What about those rich f**ks those houses arent to deadly ??

This game needs some sort of testing your own house without beeing able to die .

Was searching this forum over and over again and I can't find how to start your new house. I can't be on 24/7 a day and watching that my house doesen't get robbed.
For example : yesterday I manage to robbe someone for aprox 9.5k I made a nice house that was around 19:00 hrs - 21:00 hrs. After that I did check once or twice but next morning ( today ) I saw that I was robbed for around 2.5 k and have to start all over again.

It is verry hard for new players . I realy don't know what to do .  It is an amazing game and verry smart , but its to hard for players . Thats like saying : " Here is 2000$ try to survive aginst all those rich people that can do what ever the f**k they want. "

(sorry for my english since its not my mother language )
