I should also mention that these are only the first two rooms that I'm releasing. Where the vault is located was typically a hallway leading to more, but nobody ever got past that point.

This is a house that I've used several times before, and it's always proven to be very good at protecting my vault. This map has been out of use for a few months though because I lost interest in watching the tapes of everyone dieing in the same ways in the same places... So, I've been building new tricks and traps for people to run through for my amusement. And now I'm finally releasing the map for all to see. I'd love to hear what you guys think of it.
Darron Isaac Cannon's paintings are up for sale in the auction house. I made the foolish, foolish mistake of trying to rob and watch youtube videos at the same time...
Thanks- your name is Darron Isaac Cannon (your parents really liked letter pairs, didn't they?)
For the first time ever, I know my own name, thanks IceMan (and yes, they certainly did).

YOU.
How Ironic, I just posted about that, heheh. The next time won't be so easy!
Yes, it was me, mwahahahahaha.
If it makes you feel any better, I was only after your money. But, at the last second I got greedy and ran off with the paintings as well. If you think my house is so weak (probably is, it's never been put to a real test before) then you're welcome to come rob me and try to get them back
Chihuahuas are deadly and pit bulls aren't, but both still cost the same...
I robbed Victor David Thomas and have his six paintings. I don't know my name though so I can't give you that for the update.

Sorry for you loss Blip. I fear that my opinion is a bit irrelevant at this point. But, this is a question that I've thought about a lot so I'm still going to share.
If you like to build wife-based traps then I think you should go for it because games aren't as fun when you don't do what you want to do. With that said, if you only want to kill robbers to make money and your main goal is just to work toward having your house on the front page, then the wife is a liability and there are better traps for killing robbers. But, if you like watching robbers try and solve your puzzles, then a wife-trap is an excellent obstacle to throw at them in my opinion.
Either way though, wives aren't very hard to kill. So, at higher house values the wife trap should have a couple layers of defense in front of it if possible. Or at least a doggy commitment gate so that murderous robbers looking for easy money know they probably wont get out alive... though, that never stops me from trying when I'm in the mood for a cyber murder spree.
When Mr. and Mrs. Bartlett go to a dinner party, he doesn't flush after he gets done in the bathroom.
I saw him once grab a book at the library and place it on a different shelf.
If players were able to return paintings back to the auction house, then I think it should be on a donation basis so that the player would receive no money in exchange. That way there's no incentive for a robber to donate paintings he/she has stolen other than to remove unwanted art from his/her collection.
Now, when a painting is stolen the former owner would no doubt contact the proper authorities to report the robbery and those authorities would contact the auction house and let the staff their know that the paintings are 'hot'. The auction house would then refuse any donation attempts made with 'hot' paintings for a duration of time after the robbery (24 hours seems too short to me, maybe like a week). This would give some other robber time to rob the paintings and you could see who robbed the person that robbed you because the new robber would have to wait a week to donate their freshly robbed art.
When a painting is donated to the auction house (if that ever becomes a thing), then that player should have to wait some duration of time before he/she can make another donation. That will give the auction house time to 'authenticate' the painting before they decide to trust the player with a new donation. And, when a player donates a painting there could be a note next to it saying something like "Donated by Mr X", that way when Mr A gets robbed by Mr B and Mr B gets robbed by Mr X, then at least there's still a trail back to Mr X for Mr A to see. And if Mr A had a lot of art then when Mr X gets robbed by Mr Rutabaga, then Mr A can continue to watch as the paintings get passed along because, according to this system, art donation is a very time consuming process.
Oh okay, thanks. I didn't see that thread.
I think it would be cool if there was a list of all the paintings that you could view in game and it would tell you who owned that painting or if it was in the auction house. I don't believe that this would contradict the spirit of the game (but, that's for Jason to decide of course) because it would make acquiring paintings 'riskier' because if you own a painting that somebody else wants then the list would make it easier for them to find you and try to rob you.
The only problem that I can think of right now with having such a list in the game is that if you had a painting you could look at the list and learn your name. And as I understand it, knowing your own name is against the spirit of the game. So, perhaps if you owned a painting and looked at the list then next to that painting's name it would say something like "You own this painting" rather than "Owned by Mr X".
Anyways, that's just an idea I had. Hopefully I explained it in a way that made sense.
if someone could let me know what my name is, I would appreciate it.
Your name is William Adam Keene
It's almost always cheaper to steal really nice paintings than it is to pay 15-18k for them on the auction house as well.
My painting I had was only 9k when I got it, which is one of the reasons I was so happy to have had it. But I guess that's a moot point now that I died, lol.
Oh god. Now i feel like i'm going to have a bunch of people coming after me. STAY BACK YE DEMONS! THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!
lol Ham, I actually did find your house and tried to rob you after I died in Mr Conley's place. Your house is scary, in 24 hours I don't think I'll be coming back. I know your name now though
I went to Mr. Conley's house to see if I could rob "Momento Mori" from him. And, after scouting a few times I thought that I might be able to, but I guess I was wrong... for now.
Now I died and lost my painting... Oh well, lol.
"A Snail In The Sun" is pretty awesome.
I got "Dermatillomanian Abyss" by Alex Diamond. It's one of the few very abstract ones that I like.
I just bought my first painting ever in TCD. I've been playing since v30 and usually before I have the money to get one from the auctions I die self-testing my house, or in someone else's house if I get bored waiting for people to try and rob me. So, I'm very happy to have finally been able to acquired a painting.
Now I'm curious though, what are your guys' opinions on paintings? If you don't have one, would you like to? What do you think when you walk into a house that has paintings?
