you know i'm quite happy with my current house i stole the magic dance set up strait off of here (mostly cause i wasn't sure how they worked and how to set it up) then modified it.
Currently survived 5 brute force attacks (after one guy forced past it and left one of my pitbulls in a pit oh the irony successfully robbing it)
one guy has even figured out the dance and it still managed to kill him.
Ok 1 victor so far and he even taught me something about my own dance that i didn't even know. now i just need some cash for a minor repair and some new failsafes.

OH joy ive heard of castle draft but not the simulator will definitely take a look soon and use it to test my designs more thoroughly

I am still liking having a house as a one time only robbery house. i.e when someone has already robbed you thye have killed say a cat and now the house can never be robbed again but by still try and get themselves trapped
But you need a wife with money alive for it. (For all you people who sacrifice your wife at the front door)
ok ok im sorry wife and kids but id rather not be losing massive amounts of money later because some guy clubbed and shot all my pitbulls which are expensive as **** and id rather not people be able to save the changes they make to my house

Hey, have fun. mcedit is written in Python, but there's probably far simpler minecraft-likes written in python which you could play around with.
Wow, you know what's a really great trap? Making your house look broken when it's not. People seem pretty willing to walk down a corridor of grills if it looks like whoever robbed the house broke into that corridor and waltzed down it themselves.
Hmm i might have a go but my knowledge is still a bit too basic i couldn't hardly get a game of memory to work properly.
Also pit bulls right behind people ususal saw points makes it impossible to get back and is quite fun to watch them run around trying to delay the inevitable.

So it hasn't passed my notice that Mr. Keenan keeps his safe nice and hidden behind a single door in his house leaving him consistently with $0 0 visitors and 0 dead. I've also never seen Keenan turn up outside of the house list (never scouting or robbing). However tonight mr. Keenan not only obtained $1 (Which i promptly stole after getting committed by a dog) broke into my house and did a quick scout at the exact same time. So who is this Keenan and is he being used as an alt scout or an actual player?

you know i'm looking at this game thinking that i could make a similar game that is almost a mixture of Minecraft and TCD using this to make a far creepier setting. the only problem would be camera set up and interaction (real time instead of turn based and how to film the entirety of a first person maze that is user created) odds are it would include similar TCD tiles + alternate wiring tiles (vertical voltage trigger switches and such) perhaps even throw in some of the time mechanics of SuperHot (time only moves when you move) to give the person more time to think and act simulating turn based action.
And now i'm hooked on my own idea time to learn how to code more than my (rather pathetic) python skills.

I'd recommend just robbing to get more than the initial $2k to start building. If you do want to build a house with the initial $2k, try setting up a wife trap. You'll have to watch it closely though since it's easy to break once people have seen it.
most of these places are nice enough to afford 2k protection without decent scouting and i don't feel up for a long endeavor for too much besides someone already gave me the 1100 i needed to scale up my place enough...
significantly better defended and trying to brute force it might make for some funny videos...

$12868?! How did a house that required nothing but some water get so high? The thing about this game is that you have to work out what the weaknesses of your designs are and try to overcome them. Asking people not to exploit them isn't going to work (pretty sure most players don't read the forums.) It took me many attempts to learn to create a house that wasn't easy to break with $2K. For example electric grills are extremely weak defense if you can just pour water on them, but they become dangerous and far more expensive to bypass if they never turn on until the moment you step on them.
yeah the house was easy to break but took exactly 2100 to force strait up and most people took the wrong tools

Well it's a bit trickier there's some hidden stuff you don't quite see going on...
ill contemplate making it harder to figure out with a single door stop but i might save that for later tonight.
if i may make one request don't brute force it today. if you've figured it out great but don't start taking **** tons of water in.
by later tonight it will be ready for whatever your planning over there....

@voxel Go write your own mobile game and maybe you will understand. For instance, on iOS I need to rebuild a version for each person using it with their device ID hard coded into the app (it's either that or jailbreak the phones or put it in the iOS store before it's ready - it wouldn't pass the iOS store acceptance process anyway).... How do I do that with a "download". Also, and again, I've already offered the mobile code to Jason for this game and his others and he said no thanks.
Ohhh now everything makes so much more sense. you had me quite confused there with some of this stuff. dang this sounds like it takes a lot of effort thanks for selflessly doing this for the community. Can't wait to see what you do with it all!

now i just need a santa so i can rob some of the starter homes wives...
Nvm, That 3-4000 is gone but the house was worth more than that soooo....

Hmm just had a thought for the reboot I'm perfectly fine with the self test deaths but what if when one occurred a players bounty and house value was evenly distributed.
Honestly I'd rather see this in TCD in case one of those top dogs dies changing their combo

Ok rather new and i have seen people capable of using their mobile to play or at least check in. anyone care to explain how to set that up because i cant find anything on here and i'm not sure about the specifics. (Device specific, settings required, potential risks...)
If i'm mistaken just let me know and it will put my curious mind to rest.

So who is John Edmund Hale? Matthias claimed it was not him... because John Edmund Hale walked into my house and killed my wife for a total gain of about $115
So tempted to take enough dog meat to brute force Autrey's house but it only has $140 and i know that if i knew my AI movements well enough i could do it... wait nvm that house was broken...

I have been doing some santa runs. If someone drops 5 saws in your house that is me. What do you guys think about a rule that says if your house is less than 3 days old and less than 4k of construction spent, a robber cannot bring a higher retail value of tools than what is in the vault. I'm not sure if that is English, but hopefully you guys get the gist of what I am suggesting. I am of course talking about doing this in TH, not TCD as I have no control over the rules in TCD.
I Love it but couldnt it be circumvented by santa runs?

If you see a similar design pop up don't brute force pls it will be almost exactly the same so pls don't take advantage of it.

Seems someone is doing loads of Santa runs JAM, i have picked up a few and hale/smith are both climbing in value
The only thing i hate is the ones on me never bring any tools

I haven't checked I'm away right now and don't know how to get the mobile running
If it had a realy cheap combo lock with a pitbull leap of faith it was me. I actualy don't know how to realy set a combo lock up but found that cheap design on here and figured I'd give it a try (+ some mods of corse)
Also I'm totally chill with people killing the fam as long as I they leave me compensation for the lost cash and damage.
