I've had the same thing happen a lot without any successful robberies on my side. I think there are just more people getting their rocks off spending 2k on tools and then going on to trash a random house, start over and do the same again. But the proposal is good.

I could have sworn the post was about current and not pets. Nevermind me, reading comprehension levels are close to 0 apparently.

#278 Re: Main Forum » Can someone tell me what this is about? » 2014-03-04 14:51:45

Could someone do that to me, I do have the time to build a big house. Please? wink

That's what NON-conducting lights are for.

I spent ~1k on family protection and have very flimsy vault protection now. We'll see how it goes.

#281 Re: Main Forum » So this happened... » 2014-03-03 17:43:32

So what do you build with the starting 2k that also has enough money left over to lure in robbers?

#282 Re: Main Forum » So this happened... » 2014-03-03 17:36:45

I try to protect both to be honest, maybe that's the problem. To get good family protection you need pits and pitbulls so you can't really do it with the starting money. And this one took my vault, not my family. The fact still remains that he brought 2k worth of tools to a 700$ house, clubbed all my cats and then robbed the safe.

#283 Re: Main Forum » So this happened... » 2014-03-03 17:26:38

And now it happened again! Someone came into my newly built house which had less than 700$ between the safe and the wife, brought 2k worth of tools, destroyed everything and took 338$ from my safe! This is ticking me off now, as if it's not bad enough that houses are so hard to break into now, but I can't even start up because someone will troll me with 2k worth of tools!

What she likes me to call her can not be written here in good conscience since children might wander in here and read it.

#285 Re: Main Forum » So this happened... » 2014-03-03 10:22:34

Spending 650 to protect my wife means I only have 1350 to protect my vault AND leave a bounty. I'm apparently a shit robber, I have had no successful starting robberies for over a week. If people go to my house to break it without intent of actually making money, there is no chance I can build up enough money to actually have a worthwhile defense.

She's a hottie too eppfel, you bagged yourself a good one. Oh and the pies she make while you're out robbing, delicious, gotta say.

#287 Re: Main Forum » Ideas and questions » 2014-02-27 14:58:49

How about a tool to unpress a button? You would have to be adjacent to it and it should probably cost something like a saw or the likes.

#288 Re: Main Forum » Does this happen to anyone else? » 2014-02-27 14:45:05

Yeah, but you weren't supposed to figure that out untill the house had earned enough to continue the build! That's the weakness with my current starter design, I need 4-5 deaths for a small expansion up top for it to actually be viable and if someone figures out the trick BEFORE that, I'm SOL.
Anyone got any good 1300$ designs they wanna share? XD

#289 Re: Main Forum » Curry suicide at my house?! » 2014-02-27 11:00:54

A "connection error" icon before actually leaving the house would be awesome, as you could take steps towards reconnecting before leaving? Not sure if that is how the mechanics work, but if it is...

#290 Re: Main Forum » Is it just me? How to attract more "customers" » 2014-02-26 19:21:02

One of the best pieces of advice I have been given from whining on this board is to build something that LOOKS accessible.

#291 Re: Main Forum » Does this happen to anyone else? » 2014-02-26 18:39:19

Slight modification of design to protect wife better and while the change in design didn't change how to solve the house, I managed to die in selftest by stepping too far right while solving! That rollercoaster of "doo dee daa, going so well and OHFUCKWHATDIDIDONOOOOO!" is why this game is great. Never remove selftest death, Jason. Never.

#292 Re: Main Forum » Does this happen to anyone else? » 2014-02-26 18:13:28

4000 crisp DoctrineDollar bills of value in my house for some lucky home intruder! Mason, apparently (thanks booper)!

#293 Re: Main Forum » Does this happen to anyone else? » 2014-02-26 17:26:28

And someone just came in with 2k tools, used a single tool and died, leaving me a 7100 bounty o.O thanks for the money injection whoever took up my challenge!

#294 Re: Main Forum » Does this happen to anyone else? » 2014-02-26 17:15:45

Now 2100 and also, I should never have done this, I know my home is not exactly a high profile target, but putting info here now made me so nervous!

#295 Re: Main Forum » Does this happen to anyone else? » 2014-02-26 17:11:05

Currently only 2000, but as you can see my house is not too complicated.

http://castledraft.com/editor/JxyH0n This is how my entrance looks! Come visit, my front door is wide open... Yeah some dudes already broke the lock on it, sooo.

#298 Re: Main Forum » Does this happen to anyone else? » 2014-02-26 16:17:27

I'm being more and more confirmed in my 'watched kettle doesn't boil' theory right now, as after I logged on, have not spent any of the money that was left in my house, once more noone is visiting! Come try and rob me, guys! My commit gates are super obvious, I promise, you will not die if you don't do anything dangerous!

#299 Re: Main Forum » How do I find my name? » 2014-02-26 16:14:49

While it isn't hard to find out your names as long as you have a buddy who also plays, I find it a fun little quirk to the game, no real mechanical value, but the flavor in the fact is abundant.

I guess it's a variation on "Watched kettle doesn't boil" or whatever, but I build a house, sit for a few hours, watching tv and having Castle Doctrine on my screen, refreshing the tape page and... nothing happens. I go "BAH!" and log off Castle Doctrine and come back a few hours later, not more hours than before, just without having been on that screen, and 5 people have died in the house. I am not complaining, it's just a funny phenomena. I guess some of it can be explained by the bounties/tools left from the first robber brings in the next one faster which brings the next in faster yet and so on.
