I was building that but it seems to have a hissy fit. What I did was instead of having 1 light for each circuit I connect the top into a corridor and put the lights in the corridor. The single step flash had 1 light, space, 1 light (worked great) the 2nd clock had 2 lights (worked great) but the 3rd clock didn't work. If I removed the lights from the 2nd clock then the 3rd one worked. it was odd. The idea was you walked down a corridor and saw #_#_##_### (#=light/electric floor, _=empty space),
#_# 1st clock circuit. (step, on, step off)
## 2nd clock circuit. (step, step, on, step, step, off)
### 3rd clock circuit. (step, step, step, on, step, step, step, off)
Yea I'm hoping once things quieten down this may be looked into.
Personally I would love the electronics to evolve a bit, adding new possibilities for minimizing circuits and making them far complicated and longer (like increasing the setting for max size for loops etc..), but as it is now, its a lot to learn for new players and there are sooo many things you can do that can be extremely complicated. I doubt this side of things would be changed, it would be nice tho.
I think we are all still waiting. I would say he's pretty flat out.
Yea I had no biggie dying even tho I was pretty proud at hitting almost 100k.. Now its fun time with electrics and clock timings an stuff. Was a little gutted you didn't play with the finale, you just kinda smashed through it. Ahh well back to those frustratingly hard electronic timing circuits (spent a cple hours so far on them).
*Edit*
Wait what? that says 270k?
Whew... that's insane to learn. Made a few mistakes and killed myself. Getting it now... this is gonna be cool.
OK well I've been trying to follow this and it doesn't seem to quite add up like I expected so I thought well I'm missing something so I'll replicate what's pictured and then I should be able to follow it.
So I made a copy of Hippasus's post "....repeating circuit with period 8...."
It did nothing. Guess I'm either still not following something or maybe there was a mistake it in somewhere.
I'm trying to make a repeating circuit that would flash on and off with each step. Is that possible?
So then ALL MMO's have DRM and with it being described as "a massively-multiplayer game of burglary and home defense by Jason Rohrer " would indicate exactly that. In my understanding a game that is not an MMO and has to be connected for anti-piracy was a DRM game.
I could be wrong, I quite often am.
The final part was a combination lock. If you pick the right button it opens all teh doors and turns off the electric plates between the doors. Any other button breaks the circuit so the correct button cant open the doors and then it turns on the mass pathway of electric floors.
Well the house is toast now soooo....

Odd. You are talking about the initial purchase not the steam one I guess.
Sorry to hear you are having trouble. I'm not 100% sure how the whole web purchase side of things works but I think the steam system should be pretty much instant access.
Hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of the community.
Lol yea. Overnight while I'm asleep I get about 10k. Usually I only get about 3-4 people actually able to leave out of the 3+ pages of tapes.
EDIT
I see a lot of attempts and lots of tools Mr Carpenter. In hindsight it appears it's actually a lot better defended than I thought.
EDIT 2
Wow you made it to the end. I must admit watching you go through there... You are definitely a top player. I can see what's ticking through your mind as you analyse each trap.
EDIT 3
GOOD JOB MAN! That was cool. So what are your thoughts on the design?
EDIT 4
... accidentally clicked return to house... thought ah well quick self test then I'll get some cash to fix the damage... walked into pitbull.
Someone said pre contest end that it was Mr Dill.
I'm in the top 8.
I want to see someone attempt my final trap... I've been so tempted to just disable everything up to that point, then I think of how many times I've had a lucky bumbler walk through all my previous house builds and I decide against it.
OMG that rules! I would never had thought of that and I can see why it catches so many people out.....
Look at all the kitties!
Wait a minute... is this safe?
Test button... test button... yep its a toggle. Time to play wit teh kittehs!
Oh crap 1 got out! no no no don't you dare step on the.... button.
ROFL!
Yep you will have a blast. While at work (if you get time) do a little reading on the wiki. It will save your butt from being killed from your own traps. I found this out the hard way when I assumed that powered trapdoors let power flow through them. Thats not the only assumption I made that killed me. 10 mins in the wiki however can save you hours from having to restart after a stupid death.
I did a quick one by SS each step, then went to makeagif.com and let that website do it for me. Originally I tried using camtasia but couldn't work out how to reduce the resolution of the gif from 1080p.
Well I have been playing for a total of 13 days. I brought the game just before the real money contest. It was really hard to start off as I would build a bit, wait for fail robbers, build a bit, etc... repeat that for a day. Go to bed and wake up broke. I'd make a crapload while asleep then lose it all just before I get up in the morning. I understand the frustration.
BUT
While you are doing that slow build you still have your house growing. If you persevere with it eventually you can fill your whole house with traps even though you get robbed every night and lose everything (unless you make sure your family is protected, then you lose half and have money to repair).
That is awesome! Good job.
That would be one hell of an overhaul to get that working. Would absolutely love it though. Especially the fact that they would know I am watching every move they make.
Maybe the new paintings could be marked with a bright green pixel in one corner to mark it as a leaderboard prize. Once a month. It would be a cool way to add new paintings to the game.
The 4th pic with the chihuahua trap is quite funny when you have the turn on point (corner in that pic) 4 spaces (instead fo the 5 shown) to the switch. The range of a brick is 4 squares so people stuck in this seem to feel the need to throw a brick at the switch to turn it on while they are standing on the spot where they first see the chihuahua.
Happens a lot more than you would think.
It is the number of deaths since your last edit. If it gets too high and you want more people in you can do a quick edit and reset it back to 0.
I think everyone is having issues. I spent ages trying to connect to show off my house to a mate.
