Yep that was me some nice scouting you did there i knew that dog was clubbable but hadnt yet aquired the fund to fix it so i left it there otherwise that scouting trip would have been much shorter. The final room was kinda just a whim i had its not necessary giant waste of space thats only just deadly if you screw it up.
The dog can still be clubbed. And the pet room was a lot of fun, so no waste at all ![]()
The Pepin design was around for some time now, right? Until now I was too lazy to figure out the entrance.
im trying something new have a little house up that gives you a nice clean shot at the vault (or did until a recent update) through several powered doors with toggle switches on em and a little death trap that goes down into the rest of the house.
If your house crawls with chiwas and cats, I think I got to your vault just now. But $1000 is not worth robbing, so I left it intact. It was great fun solving it! I think there should be more designs that rely on some trickery, but are not just uncrackable like Smith was.
Didn't really enjoy the design so have given my bounty back to the person who gave it to me.

Thx, but I already lost it: http://thecastledoctrine.net/forums/vie … 094#p20094
So, Smith finally is dead. I was inactive over the holidays and after reading about Milo's bounty, I was looking at new designs in the neighborhood, not really planning to rob anyone, and forgot to power my laptop. So the $20k bounty goes to Mr. Mendez.
Now, I finally have to reveal the map. There were so many brute-force attacks and the house did only fall to a dual account player and Passive, who used a fortune of over $100k to break through. I will explain the last traps later. The mapshot is the version Passive robbed, after that I only cemented the way south.
I think the secret of it all were two things: First, relying on crowbars for nearly every trap, so robbers would underestimate how many to bring. And second, to use animals – especially cats – to avoid wired walls to cut through and make very precisely timed/choreographed solutions.
But I thought that there wasn't any way to keep an account/house with money in it permanently off the neighbourhood list?
Not an account, nor a house, but your booty. When you successfully robbed someone, there is the confirmation screen. The booty gets transferred to your vault at home, when you hit return. Exiting though is safe and leaves the money in "Limbo".
Yes! It works!
Would you mind, posting your solution? I had troubles starting on Ubuntu.
I'd hardly say Smith is back;
I meant back on the list.
And you got very lucky cracking the combo that quick
Na, had two tries before and knew one button from the previous scout. And I think I know your "pattern" ![]()
Edit: You lost it already?
No, Heck never went home after the robbery, because he knew the police and other robbers would search there first. I think he booked a ticket to Venezuela and waits to come back, until the coast is clear.
People have been doing well during the night. I probably should changr the house. But I think I prefer being the robber, and with this much money no one is worth robbing
Took me 6 runs. It was a pleasure.
And Smith is back^^ I just can't kill him. I think this looks like an terror regime. I will not post the complete map, because it was not solved. But I will keep on revealing it. And I won't change the combinations, so the next time it won't gather that much money again.
Ps: For the cash. I parked it in limbo, because I have a serious bronchitis right now and I don't have the energy to work on a house for a few hours.
I took a few notes so will probably have another look inside soon...
You should tell me when, so I am going to make me some popcorn.
Hey, and AMWhy is back at it. Oh man how much money is blown into destroying tiles in that house. But magically, when the robber leaves, puff, everything just as before.
BTW: What's with the 16 door stops o_0?
Hahaha Passive, definitely funny. I just wanted to congratulate you on Hale and how you became quite the robber, but this makes me wonder. You saw everything you need to solve the house tool-less, yet you come in again to waste another $30k in tools.
I was waiting for someone brute-forceing for both the routes you took. But I'm not sure, if it really is the cheapest way to crack my house.

But at least some action in Smith' Mansion. Yeaiii
Now, let's watch these tapes again...
Only Eppfel has passed the first trap correctly (how you worked out the correct route, I'll never know).
The cat gives you a good idea and I came in with a crowbar once, I thought I had left a tape?
I think my explanation of the entrance is far from easy and due to a recent copycat
, who let himself get robbed in order to understand cat movement. Here is something visual:
Btw, what are you waiting for, guys???
I reveal so much of the solution of the house and you still waste so much money on the red herring. Let's prevent that in the future:
The way southwards is a feint, although I designed the electric floor solvable. I dislike electric floor traps. They take a lot of space and normally can be surpassed easily. It is the first I ever build and although it is a fake, I took special care in designing it. First you have to solve it correctly in order to surpass the trapdoor. Second, the dog moves vertically and horizontal. That makes it harder to figure out the solution, because the toggle switches can not be turned of again.
I think 90% of the money the house makes, comes from this trap. If the house had just the door in the beginning, nobody would even die in there.
So, yesterday I put Mickens down on my list. I won't post a screenshot, because it gives away too much. Now I need a new target..
PS: I just try Mickens and Albrecht again. They appeal the most to me.
I heard my name somewhere in there! I've taken a back step to robbing lately as I have my own house in the list (around 22k value). I'm also nowhere near a PC for a few days, but perhaps on Sunday I'll have another look at Smith.
Nice house, but after a look behind your door, it was just too easy to surpass the following traps. I have still no interest in building a house. So, maybe an update and I can try again ![]()

Miss counted the amount of dogs:

Ah well at least i tried. Had the tools to deal with the dog as well should of bricked the door
Haha, I think you died, because you wanted to repay me for not robbing you^^ I enjoyed your house, although it was not the toughest one.
As for the dog, you should have noticed by the closed door you tried to surpass, that something is behind it. I think you are the first big bounty dying at Smith and $17300 is not bad.
For further robbers I did not changed the combinations for ages and probably won't in the future, so save yourselves some money.
If you want someone to solve your map, why would you make your very first trap "complex"?
Back at $100k. For this special moment I feel generous and reveal the next trap, although I won't explain it's functioning.
As an update: There were two other robbers besides Passive, that got as far as what's revealed. But it's quite for three days now.
For $120k there is always a profit, how could you blow $120k on tools without success. OK, in all his scouts at Smith's AMWhy used a lot of tools, but with new accounts.
And with this amount of money you will be brute-forced. It is just a matter of time. Especially if you sit there, doing nothing.
I think I try again in scouting you. Smith was just dominating long enough...
No, one scout yesterday, Tool-less today. I was lucky I guess, but I had a feeling, too.
And actually I didn't rob him. $12k is not worth starting to build a house.
Ps: I withstood a great urge to use Smith's money to brute-force you, yesterday.
You're welcome!
Hello there. I've been totally inactive for the whole week. I had a lot to do and the motivation for Castle Doctrine is decreasing I must admit. My house was actually not fully repaired, but no one even tried^^ It is now. Glaze could be the triple account player, but who knows.
As promised, I reveal more of my house.
This trap is a horizontal version of the entrance of Mr. Case with a dog shutting down the only passable door. With the right combination of steps, the dog locks itself in and you are safe to pass.
Yeah, didn't mention it in the post. Would be too easy just posting the solutions.
I restored 50% of the house and Mr. Smith id still alive, so why should he kill himself. I want to continue to reveal the house, so robbers can try their best at what will have accumulated then.
The second trap of Smith's house is also a cat and a dance, but this cat actually goes the path you have to take and you have to prevent that. The cat is six steps in front of you, powers the pit and shuts the doors before you can reach them. You have to move the cat in a special way, so it creates a paradox circuit opening the door and dying in the open trapdoor.
I had several variations so far and one even had a puzzle with a dog and was copied by Mr. Clay. On the image I left out the 3x3 tiles in the upper left corner, otherwise it would be too easy.
This trap costed 4 crowbars or equal for a few brute-force attackers.
That is f***ed up. $260k down the toilet. I really wanted to rob him. I have one account in Limbo with $40k and thought, if he robbed me with multiple accounts, I can, too.
And here is this story: Seven hours ago I received 2 tweets from an anonymous account, with what seems to be the solution for Clay. And six hours ago he died. Unfortunately I was sleeping.
@eppfel Here is a clear path to something you designed that someone stole parts of.
@eppfel dwsadadadswwwwsssssswsssswssswssssssssddddddddddddddddwwwwwwddddswddswddddwsaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwdddddddddddddwwwwwwwaaaaaa
I have two theories:
1. Someone found Clay's vault and wanted to give it to me. Clay saw the tape, wanted to change his house and died in a self-test.
2. It is Clay himself, who fucked up while robbing and then wanted me to rob him before his house is gone. (But then the times would be off).
No matter what, this chapter is closed. I have plans for a new house..
