also removing houses after a week is a horrible, horrible idea. I am going on a two week vacation this summer and my house would just be removed even though it's not broken.
But taking them off the list after a week or so of no resets wouldn't be a bad idea. Not saying they should disappear for good, just not be visible to other players.
I have invented a trap. When I thought of it I wanted to share it immediately, but sharing is also showing solutions and as such I didn't. I have moved away from using this trap however, since once someone has figured out how it works it is basically just a guess with a 1/3rd chance of success. I stopped using the trap myself shortly after making it, because I had some lucky people guess how to work it, one of my friends used it for quite a bit longer, but I haven't seen him online for more than a week now, so I am taking the liberty of sharing it for thoughts, input and the admiration of the masses. The pic I am adding here is an old house, showing all the three possible solutions of the trap. To the robber, with no tools, all three traps look identical and two of them essentially are, the difference is just which way is correct. Several times people with tools would deconstruct the first trap, only to try the same solution on the second trap and promptly jump into a pit. The trap is affectionately called 'The Doogie' for a friends mistype of doggie.

Shouldn't it be the true killcount of the house and not the visible one setting bounty value?
My point exactly, cullman, the "we're not getting anything you can't get on a solo account we're just getting it faster" has been one of the argument points of the pro-multiaccount crowd.
If multiple accounts had no financial interaction with eachother what so ever, I would not give a rats ass. It's the fact that you can generate income independent of other peoples houses or their visits to your house. This is a great example of "getting something faster" IS a detriment to the game and not as some people have claimed, not a particularly strong advantage.
This sounds horrendous ![]()
TheNinja my buddy left a 24k bounty in a house yesterday but that was definately not on purpose. I tried to pick it up but he described the house wrong so I died too (on a fresh 2k life though so not adding that much) but that might be what you found there. Did the wife block the exit?
I never build without at least 4000 to begin with.
Mr Carpenter. I've been in your house a few times during it's development. Don't think I've died in it, but I didn't get very deep either.
You could do a mock up of your entrance in castledraft and people can try their luck?
Nah finding your name is pretty common and people really don't care that much. Throw up your value and how your entrance looks ( use www.castledraft.com ) and someone will help you out. Welcome to!
Could we get some sort of update page, perhaps even just a stickied forum post, where you let us know when you change the variables in the game that doesn't need a game update?
Things like chills or bounty values and variables?
Nah I'm still using it. And seeing it built out makes it a lot easier to spot than just having read about it ![]()
I can be remembering the other way around, I mean I can't check like I said.
Heh, your 3k robbery was the house I let my reallife wife build (I was taking a break after one too many mistakes) bummed her out, her house almost made it through the night! But just before you robbed it someone left a 1100 bounty in there, and the house couldn't stand up to that kind of heat.
Well I died to lagging in selftest so I can't check your name now, xandalis. If you didn't die to the wife though I think you were the 8100. Did you go down from the door into the "room" with the dog? Because without being able to check, I believe that's what the 8100 did, the 4600 ran to the exit, stumbling into the shotgunblast of the wife.
I lost a up-and-coming house earlier today in self-test by the computer hanging for a split second, making me take an extra step. I didn't die upon taking that step but it messed up my solution and I could do nothing but suicide. The beautiful dastardly nature of this game.
xandalis was indeed right, now that my wife is dead I don't mind sharing. I didn't get any more big bounties, but it was quite a simple trap getting a 4600 and an 8100 bounty. It was a wife/dog pincer with a diagonal expose, but no screenshift as part of the expose though.
I thought of it because what gives off a wife/dog pincer to me is the extra steps the path to the door makes you take. But with a diagonal expose like you would have for a stealth dog commit, you don't expect a wife. And if the angle is wrong for a stealth dog commit people just open the door.
I'd rather not comment on the nature of my trap.
Edit: When it's been played out enough and goes back to just getting 100 dollar bounties I will reveal it.
So I am not going to reveal the trap just yet, but after I died shortly after having bought my first painting, I tried 2king a whole bunch of houses (almost all houses that would be worth it) with no luck. Finally I had a successfull robbery in a 4.9k house, but with a live wife, netting me only 3k building dollars, as I did not nail the wife also.
So I was on a very strict budget and decided to try a small variant to a very well known trap. Only 23 dollars was left over to lure people in and of course that did not get me many visitors.
I was lucky however, and I got a free 2k abandoned house, spent around 1200 on a slight upgrade and left around 800 to lure people in. Now we get to the importance of this story:
My new trap has claimed 3 bounties so far... Two of which have indeed -not- been the usual 100 dollar bounties of a suicide robber but in fact a 4600 and a 8100 bounty has been claimed. I am interested to see if the trend will continue.
What are your experiences with new twists on old traps and fooling people that should not be dying in your house with them?
I rob 0$ vaults if they are easy and I have no extra account to make money off. If I die in a house I like to look it up after to see how big my bounty was. It does not have to be an exploitation issue and right now you are -making- it one for no reason what so ever.
No-one said anything about exploitation in this thread until you brought it up.
If you dislike this discussion of dual accounts so much, crazyace, why do you bring it up? As far as I can see this thread is not about that.
