yeah sometimes i change the saws with cutters but that's seldom and had only 1 or 2 houses i did it today o.o
you beat it with a brick and meat (plus one more meat for exploration).
If he had 2 saws 2 bricks 4/5 water/meat, then its my sign =P
Copy the right session in recordedgames in playbackgames and start castledoctrine and then you can see how you played
edit: found it
If you go into your setting folder, look for enableSpeedControlKeys, open it, and change it to 1.
Then, when you're watching a replay, you can user ^ through ) to choose the speed.

I use 1k to built up my family/safe protection, there the pitbull is for defending both. After that I scout other houses and see if i get to the vault with less than 300$ (You just need to look long enough).
Karma got me, but it was not my house. It was feeling to safe an saw an move in an instant. That flash after a succesful robbery...
Can you play the recorded games faster? Cause I have many breaktimes.

As a basic check you should make sure your house can withstand at least $2000 worth of tools. If your wife can be killed with a meat and a club, and you don't want her to die, then you should improve her security.
The problem with this is that a bit bull costs $320 whereas a club to kill it costs $200. It's not possible to use $2000 to make it cost more than that to get to your wife, let alone your safe. You can be crafty and make it as hard as possible, but when the tools are cheaper than the defenses they can tear down, it's not plausible.
If you set the dog uneven to the robber, he needs a pistol. So that are 1200 instead of 200 to kill the dog.
You don't know my castle house!. It's my House and i call it whatever I want, it's my SAFE! And I can do whatever I want with my wife ![]()

Obviously an experienced robber.
Came back after three scout runs with about 4000$ in tools.
Tried to get through my doggone family protection sphere.
After the video stops (for reasons of privacy), he explores for a bit to reach my actual vault, wastes his remaining tools, finally shoots the dog next to the shotgun only to still find his way blocked.
My House value was about 6000$.His is now at about 4000$.
(Yeah, I am VERY protective of my family. My vault is reachable with tools and luck and experience, but I will gladly burn all excess cash I have to put more dogs and walls and pits between any robber and my wife'n'kids)
edit:spelling
edit 2: aaaaand the next guy came and wasted lots of tools in multiple runs, now sits at 2400$.
What makes my house so darn attractive?
Ah that was me, did you had a painting? And I think you had more worth o.o my main targets today were tophouses
Don't think so, my house is done and don't need any further improvements ![]()
You are 4th Joseph Matthew Mcguire
http://imgur.com/VaC0OjP <- if this is your start
And i took down the first 3 or 4 houses, so beware =P
I took all from you, your wife, your boy and your girl, and after that all belongings in the vault. With nothing left in life you scouted the way to my wife and tried a second time to fail like most ones at my first trap. But you were my first special death in this house with 20600.

How Do Cats Move? I know they stay away from you but i just want to know like exact. I know its probably been discussed but just wondering…
If someone could help please and thank you.
kinda difficult to explain, but first you move then the cats move
they prefer horizontal movement first, if they need to decide betwenn two directions.
Better someone with more experience can explain it
the problem is, you can easily defend a door to be closed until you want it open:
http://castledraft.com/editor/1gMwdH
cost to see whats behind the door 3600/2400, but most robbers just want it to be closed, so attach a battery on that door would mean, that it stay closed. It would not change the crowbar cause it opens the close door not let it stay close.
I still think that trapsdoors are expensive enough and dangerous(for selfetest) to be only bruteforced by ladder or to go the way around.
See it that way, more items means, less bruteforce actions, more traps to counter items or something like that.
Also, we currently have 12 tools, which fits beautifully on a single screen in the grid view... That's not a great reason to avoid making it 13 tools, but it is a reason.
House owner can do more than 12 things =P
I could try to come up with more tools, but the battery was the most useful, balanced and did not replace other tools of my ideas. Let me sleep a night trough and maybe i get you a new 4 grid tool ;P
other things to add could be more voltage triggered plates, but from other sides, but i think its ok how it now is, cause it is more predictable.
Yeah, I purposely kept all direct communication out of the game for some pretty obvious reasons.
It's not that I mind direct, "obscene" harassment so much, or that I want to protect "innocent" people from abuse, but that I feel like it would detract from the atmosphere and mystery of the game. That's part of the reason why there are period-specific names assigned in the game instead of xxxOOO_*_*_L337_HANDLEZ_*_*_OOOxxx.
Did any of you ever play Journey? Pretty amazing in terms of a very consistent and smooth multiplayer integration (so much so that it was hard to tell you were playing with another human---many people didn't even realize it).... BUT, they spoiled at the end when they gave you a list of PSN handles that you played with. At least they had sense enough to keep those out of the game itself.
You know what I would like? A spray paint that you could use for tagging the house you're robbing, that would be cool.
In journey everyone have his sign, so we wait =P
I would say they should be open if the robber goes through(not pets). And if you know there could be some pet behind a curtain , you would just move until it shows up, and maybe open the sight behind the curtain too.
Seriously guys,
I said in in another topic, but why do you bring saws? There are really low chances that they will be useful in higher tier houses cause:
1. No wooden walls
2. electronics are most of times safe enough to hold 4-5 saws
3. Saws are only for woods see 1
Instead of woods you would have more use on cable cutter, cause nearly every hightier house have electric floors!
I liked my aha effect i read this information, it was like some really nice secret advance players know
*feeling special* ![]()
Not until now! I have like 40 forum posts a day to keep up with.... sorry!
Curtains are interesting. Someone else proposed something like that a while back. Though... I'm wondering what kind of interesting designs could be possible with curtains. For a dog to come out, it has to see you first somewhere else (because the curtain blocks the dog from seeing you). So what is the value of hiding the fact that a dog is back there and about to come out? Or hiding what else might be back there? Why would you want to do that? Castledraft example, please (use a horizontal and vert wires in place of curtains, maybe, to demonstrate).
Also thought about a battery in the past. As a way to "mess with" electronics beyond just snipping wires... actually powering them. But this felt way over powered, because you could bypass some things directly. Though maybe not.... even if you could bypass a trapdoor with a battery, people could "hide the wires" deep behind stuff and prevent you from applying the battery. Just like they hide the wires to a door to prevent you from just snipping the wire to the door.
I'm thinking that a battery could only be attached directly to wires, right? So more compact designs would also not be vulnerable to a battery being inserted. Or maybe it could also be attached to electric floors?
MMaster gave a good example, or you want to hide something you couldn't hide, cause camera angle and if the dog can't go through the floor, it would deactivate another trap so you need another camera angle and so much more space for maybe a simple trap. Something like this: http://castledraft.com/editor/Y6A81m
Like I said, the batterie shouldnt get enough power, to power a trapdoor(Don't know if this is possible with the state of electronics to differ between power and battery). That would be to strong and noone would use a ladder if you could attach it directly. So it would be only real useful at Powerdoor commits or you want to really burst 1 electric floor cause the power would not flow further trough simple electric floor traps(so cable cutter don't loose their sense).
BTW to topic, i think it would take some initative from the player itselfe to test something or find little things along the line
I think, my ideas were never read =/
Just the tip?
that's what she said ![]()
was your vault behind your wife and dog? I got a house in this design a few hours ago
I do think that perhaps until you get $4000... there should be no self-test permadeath
It's too expensive to use indicator lights and baby dogs.
If you replace them get near the vault and back out again you can replace them without loosing money <- should be also in the FAQ why to reach the entrance rather than the vault in traptests
