Prizes

along the lines of Jason's new game.  I would like to see prizes back in this game like last year at the inception.  With perhaps a bit of a money making twist.  Allow people to pay a nominal amount to have an extra amount of tools.

A. with a prize on certain houses (put up by the owner) this would attract some new players into the game

B. with a pay 2 play added benefit of say an extra $2k in tools for $0.99 for each run through (that someone wants to pay for) or some other structure

Any thoughts?

Re: Prizes

I don't want to speak for him, but I think Jason has largely moved on to his next project.  I am planning to do a real money prize when we launch the reboot version of our castle doctrine.  I am hoping to launch in late October, early November.  Cross platform is all done.  We are basically waiting on a few more features and the new artwork to be done.  We will be launching the website and new forums for our game in the near future.  One of the concepts we are planning on is having different neighborhoods.  We could eventually have a cash prize neighborhood where people pay to play, and get paid when they win, I like that idea.

Re: Prizes

@Cullman, Really exciting stuff! I have maps (or the majority of) for some of the harder houses lately.  If you would like to recreate them as challenge houses, I can send you the files.

Re: Prizes

Amwhy,

That'd be great! Yes please go ahead and message me privately.  If you have an android device I can also send you a beta of our client (we have iOS working too, but that is harder to share until it's in the store).  Max already has all the tutorial houses implemented.  He also has a tutorial mode (where you can define a map, a message and a tool set).  I am thinking that tutorial and challenge houses won't be permadeath, but allow people to play one player, learn offline, get badges, achievements or in game money.

Re: Prizes

Wait, Won't everyone just stop playing Castle Doctrine then?

Re: Prizes

@thoth: message me and I will send you a build.

@osium: I feel like the game is pretty dead already which is why I am trying to remake a version with potentially broader appeal.

Re: Prizes

@Cullman

on this forum there's plenty of good maps.

as a community we posted almost every big design after it's demise.
I don't think anyone will get mad if his design will be chosen to serve as "challenge houses"
