Fear

For the first time i think i am now worth actual $$$.

So now my problem is fear. I feel i should spend it to make me less attractive, however i know if i try and make my house better i will kill myself in the self test big_smile Guess just have to see how long the house lasts. Or man up and try and add some more security.

EDIT:Just got up to $8000 excluding my vault tools so had to man up and build some more stuff, but i passed the self test. (Was gonna buy artwork but still don't get the idea of them :S)

Re: Fear

if you let your house raise up in value without improving security, it's just a matter of time and you will face robbers that are way more equipped than it takes to tear your house down to pieces. 10k value and 2k security is not a great combination.

My advice: Keep planning on castledraft, as soon as you have the money start adding stuff, test it properly, and when it's ready connect it to the main design (i've kept ares closed for weeks while waiting to finish them).

always replace EACH AND EVERY lethal tile for the initial tests, and use key confirmation during the final one.

another tip: if you have too much money and nothing planned, you can spend some on pitbulls since they can be relocated later without additional expenses.

Yea, this bit i only just found out on the wiki so have been buying extra "mobile" objects with the spare cash. I have also now got a bit more security so hopefully isnt 2k security protecting 10k vault big_smile It killed 6 people in the night. No one with a proper bounty on their head though.

Also with castle draft how do i import my house? I have read the instructions and found the line that starts 998# but i don't know where to stop when copying, and very attempt i have tried i get the warning invalid code! :S

EDIT: So someone just came in shot my wife for $28 then walked out and their value is below $700 so i am surprised they would waste the $1600 (they came with a club as well). Pretty certain they used another account to scout with as they haven't visited before and they have been around since last night (i think)

Re: Fear

Pretty much posting to myself big_smile

This house is now my first house to survive for 24 hours.

Also just managed to get castle draft working, currently my house cost $21452 to build. Very surprised big_smile

Re: Fear

House has gone. I had just bought some art work on the cheap and out of the 5 stages of the desgin no one had got through. Now i come back and some did the whole lot first go. I then robbed some $$ to fix it and killed myself during the selftest by accident. Most of this i don't mind, it was my best house to date and killed a lot of people. However what i don't like is how quickly this one person solved the whole thing on the first run. And that their house isn't actually on the list so probably dumped all the loot into another house.

Re: Fear

Yeah, there is apparently a player using cheats to clear out houses in one go, look at the cheating thread.

Re: Fear

@Passive, I think it was me who robbed you.  About 8k value?  If so, I certainly didn't do it first try - I'd been in your house several times in the last 6 hours!  My house is in production atm - if you know the name of the person, check the list now:

Edit: What happened to Smith?  I robbed your house to buy the tools to break into the top house, but he's vanished from the list sad

Yea that was me (Who was i?). Did you get all the paintings?

I guess my last stages must of just been too obvious, until then no one had got past the first 2 stages.

Re: Fear

Ah, I don't remember your name...  It began with a B.  I'd memorised the entrance by then and I was hitting every house on the list at the same time.  You're right, I got lucky at the end (up or down) but I'd worked out most of the grate section a long time back - remember when my last valuable guy died in your house?  Some parts were still the same!

Re: Fear

I have learnt about building my house up in better stages now since then. I also think that some of my designs lacked choice, meaning it might be scary when you first see it but if you manned up and just pushed on you were sort of driven in the correct direction.

But have a much better house so far this time, managed to get up to 20k cash today at work and already had a house that no one had got close too. Someone came tool'd up to the eyes and just kept doing everything wrong (which is easy for me to see but i guess for them they were clueless about what was happening just outside).

Also learnt not to spend all my money so that the wife can hold some for repairs if i do get robbed.

Re: Fear

I'm really enjoying Rodriguez's house at the moment.  Eppfel really knows how to make a good house!

Having said that, I'm locked out by strangely longer than normal chills.  Rodriguez should have been clear 33 mins ago, but it's still locked, while other houses I visited later are available...
