Sorry for stupid question, but I have been unable to find the answer to this, or a list of basic controls anywhere, so I was wondering how you wait a turn in the game?
Thanks.

you cant

You can't wait a turn, and using a tool won't use a turn.
The tools not using a turn was done intentionally to encourage skillful placement of pitbulls in which it would take a gun to kill, which wouldn't be possible if you could wait a turn.
Basic controls are WASD, and then the rest is clicking. (Although you will use other keys for typing, speed control, safe move etc.)

Wow that makes things waaaay harder if you can't even wait a turn. =-x So a dog with 1 tile between you can't be killed with a melee weapon?

Nope. You can sleep it with a drugged meat though, or shoot it with a gun. You can also sometimes use parts of the house to make the tiles between you and the dog an even number.

I think tools tick electronics though, make of that what you will..
You're right, a dog an odd number of spaces away can't be killed with a club.

using a tool will allow a house with clock electronics to pass to the next turn

Also, dogs can't pass certain player-passable tiles, such as panic buttons and discarded trigger locks.

Could you elaborate on this because i searched sometimes when i was in trouble but never found an actual way to make it even.

It's fairly hard, especially if the dog is right behind you, but it's possible. In this example, the robber is currently an even number of steps away (so he can't club the dog). If he runs around the corner to the right side, the dog will stay on the left side, at the same height as the robber. When the robber goes back up, he is an odd number of steps from the dog - and he can club it!

I keep dying of a natural cause - Stupidity
The biggest thing that Castle Doctrine has taught me is that the price of your house is proportional to the stupidity of the mistake that kills you.
