Hello everyone. I am a new member of the forums but I've been playing for awhile. (Amazing game, even though I rage quit once and awhile.) I have a question for anyone who can answer.
Are there any other games out there like The Castle Doctrine?
. They're pixel-like.
. You commit petty crimes. Such as mugging's and robbery.
. Massively/ Regular multiplayer. (Not a must, I am fine with singleplayer.)
. Awesome!
If you guys know anything, I'd love to know.
Thanks in advance!

I was looking at it, I'll definitely check it out, but from what I can see it's pretty crazy. I dunno, I am looking for more of a retro feel, like the castle doctrine.
Thanks for the reply though! very quick.

Also dwarf fortress. Not about crimes, but it have a lot building/trap design just like in castle doctrine. It's a strategy, although, so you will face things like resource mining and micromanagement. This game is really awesome and hard

A bit off topic since I can't think of any games, but I really wanted the first word of this post to be "Listen!"...
Fortress Theory Mod - New objects, tools, and paintings!
I keep dying of a natural cause - Stupidity
The biggest thing that Castle Doctrine has taught me is that the price of your house is proportional to the stupidity of the mistake that kills you.

I just know you're quoting a song here, but can't remember the name of it!

Also off-topic. I feel the need that Jason /must/ make another sequel. I know the game just came out, but when the TCD grows doll, I will want more!

Definitely one of my favorite songs... be sure to listen to the whole thing, since the middle-end is very moving.

Sorry for kinda steering this topic off of your post =P Anyways, I'm not jason, but I know a lot of it comes from his experiences with self-defense. You can read this post if you want more detail. As for the mechanics and such... I'm not sure

A quite similar game, also retro, is dungeon keeper. Ist all about building your own fortress and keeping it clean of heroes. You can add monsters, traps, etc. Theres also a prequel but I didnt play it.

Check out Hotline Miami.
It's pixel-like and awesome.
Unfortunately there's no multiplayer and the crimes you commit are not petty...

I assumed it was a zelda reference. Navi would follow you around (at least on the N64) and constantly yell things at you, like : 'Hey!... Listen!'

I second Hotline Miami. It should be just what you're looking for.

You may like "Trilby: The Art of Theft". It is fun.

As we are within old games now: "The Clou!" Same graphic style, not mutiplayer but step-by-step robbery strategy and adventure. Great game. 20 years old or so.

Yes, I was moved to tears by the end. (Of joy, bordom, or insanity, I'm not saying.) Thank you for sharing such a gem. Here's what I was thinking of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPy3cfxuKxk
