Re: People who keep their values intentionally low

I know it sucks really bad. I had a whole bunch of upgrades planned out too. Well, time to start again. I may never get all those paintings again, but i can still get my house back.

I think Roy Seth Walter is dead... His paintings are at the auction

Yes he died in Patrick Victor Connells house because some botched robbery left a landmine waiting behind a door that should have been clear. Lord0fHam then died in the same place while trying to retrieve his bounty. End result, my 67 paintings, which I gave to my brother (RSW), are all back on the market; as are all of Hams paintings, and by proxy, all of Christopher R Holmes' paintings. That's like 90/150, it's gonna get messy.

Re: People who keep their values intentionally low

haha that is so typical of this game!  Especially for the super careful, it's always something you never would have expected.

Can I ask, how would  it have happened?  You say botched robbery, but don't you have to succeed to change the state of the animals?

And now I feel much better for always taking 2 drugged meats into that house.

5) there's no such thing as honor among thieves. why do people care so much about whats "right" and whats "wrong"? you cant enforce 'honor', nor can you verify someone else's honor, so it is all bravado and braggadacciio, as far as i'm concerned. i'm sure most people in this thread have walked into a defenseless house and clubbed an innocent child. how can honor exist after that?

Are you saying that killing pixels is on par with publishing someone's map on the forum? If you are, please explain your logic. One is a viable option within the constraints of the game. It's an option put there deliberately by Jason Rohrer. The other is giving fellow players a disadvantage outside of the constraints of the game.

A weird comparison (first to come to mind): One is like having rough, but consentual sex with a stranger. The other is secretly filming it and putting it online.

EDIT: ...along with said strangers full name and number. "Yeah! You can also tap that ass anytime!"

Re: People who keep their values intentionally low

It may be "outside the bounds of the game", but keeping your own map is also "outside the bounds of the game". Besides, this is a game. If you're going to compare posting a map to doxing someone, you might as well compare in-game robbery to actual robbery.

Re: People who keep their values intentionally low

This is a game. I hear that all the time as a justification for not taking it seriously. Justifying immoral forum deeds by saying you went beyond the point of no return morally when you killed pixels representing kids is just not working for me. I admit my comparison was stupid, but hey... Relax! It's just a game! Well, suck my reproduction spheres.

Re: People who keep their values intentionally low

Can someone tell me what my in game character name is... I believe I'm near the top of the list.  I have one painting "ONE OF TWO" and I'm looking for "TWO OF TWO".

Thanks,

There is no "two of two". That's the point of the painting. tongue

How hateful of you tongue

If it weren't for the kindness of strangers, I would be pulling my hair out in frustration seeking what could not be found.

If you do happen to visit and notice a house that currently has "One of Two" painting that would be mine.  Please let me know what my name is... For some reason I didn't see it post when I started building my house.

Many thanks.

Man who doesn't know his own name:
I just went through several pages of houses, all the way to 15k, and I didn't see anyone with One of Two.

I'm beginning to think you don't exist.

Noonan called me Wilcox.  Can you check that name?

Ok... lets try this, I have over 100k and could be called Dunn.  Who am I?

Re: People who keep their values intentionally low

You have chills right now, but if you just edited your house, and have 4 scouts/1 death, and have ~130k, then yes, you're Herbert Daniel Dunn.

If you're closer to 110k, and you have 66 deaths since your last edit, you're Richard Jeffrey Ponder.

I can see Richard Jeffrey Ponder unfortunately he is the tippy top of the leader boards.

Rut row!!  That's not good.  I got to spend this before I get slammed.

Just between us, my house is not that well defended.
