I bought my first painting.

So despite playing since around the real-money contest, I have not owned a painting untill now. I am proud, but also anxious that it will bring another league of robbers to my house, a type of robber it might not be ready for. Anyways, just wanted to share with you all.

Which painting? Subtlety might not be my strong point.

Re: I bought my first painting.

Well it had gotten down to around 3.5k so I guess not a very popular one.  The Blue bubble like one.  Very pretty imo.

Re: I bought my first painting.

The reason they got that low is that there were so many at once, that people ran out of money. Blio is a nice one indeed. I'm thinking about buying "Obviously, A Major Malfunction".

Well that sure didn't take long. Paintings are like death traps. They make you (more) stupider and then you die. (I speak from experience). Sorry about that cheese.

Re: I bought my first painting.

Wait, did cheese just die or something?  Anyways, congrats on your painting!  I actually just bought my first one since the contest as well- Owl, by Jason Rohrer, to go along with all of the Beebe paintings that came along with cash and tools from someone's house smile I was/might have been first for a while, but I just dropped down to 34k for some much needed renovations.  Since I no longer needed to keep my value up to stay on the first page, I figured I'd buy a few more paintings, but alas, all of the good cheap ones seem to have disappeared sad  Well, at least I'm much prouder of my house than I was thinking I would be. big_smile

Re: I bought my first painting.

Yeah I died in a broken house. Was really stupid as well because I had actually thought of bringing the tool that would have saved me but decided against it like a dumbass.
Went on a 2k suicide spree but no luck, taking a break now. Unless someone needs me to push cats in pits or something and want to give me half their money in the process wink

Re: I bought my first painting.

If you just want to spend ~15 minutes each day playing CD, I'll give you a tip- Curt Timothy Woodward and Michael Lance Gillard are two of the houses that I was able to figure out the solutions for by repeat suicide scouting.  Each day, just map a different part of their house as you figure out how to get further and further in, and when you decide to start playing again, you'll have a nice little bonus to start your next house wink Assuming, of course, somebody doesn't read this and beat you to it tongue  Gillard's house in particular was a real joy to slowly piece together the no-tools solution for.

And of course, I wouldn't mind you giving your best shot at my house, the one around $35k with Owl in it wink

EDIT: Gah, apparently the first place house has the Geovisage series.... this is going to be tough, especially since it also has the Dermatoricaphalapetoria series also, which I understand has some people after it as well.

Re: I bought my first painting.

Are there 2 copies of Sky by Jason? I bought it, but then there was another one I could buy in the auction list.

Also, wow, there's almost no paintings left!

There is a one star difference and one is from Jason 'Rhorer' ;-)

Are the Dermatoricaphalapetoria ones the Alex Diamond set? Because if so, those are my personal favorites. I may be trying to grab them soon.

Re: I bought my first painting.

It's actually Dermatillomanian (I was joking that it was so hard to remember/pronounce) (come to think of it, you probably know what they're called already), but yes, those are by Alex Diamond.

I might be racing you for that set of paintings- I think i've said this before, but he also has the Geovisage series, which is my favorite series wink

Re: I bought my first painting.

I refer to the Alex diamond set internally as a mumble starting with a D. tongue
I do know, however, that the set title is a term for an obsessive picking of the skin.

Also, you have until this weekend to try at them before I plan on consolidating the big collections.
